Your Questions About Womens Heels For Men

Susan asks…

Have you experienced pain/discomfort in your pelvic area from wearing boots with heels of at least 40 mm?

If yes, can you please give the brand/maker and country where it was manufactured. (basically this question is for men, because women are used to wearing shoes with high heels but womens answers are also welcome)

Our pick of the answers:

Your working apart of the body you don't normally work. Wearing heels three times a week actually helps tone up your butt and thighs

Sandy asks…

Does someone have an easy sock knitting pattern?

I am looking for an easy sock pattern to knit. I would prefer that it was a pattern that used circular needles (since I haven't quite mastered the double pointed yet). Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Our pick of the answers:

My grandmother used to knit socks and she said it was the easiest thing of all to knit, once you made your first sock! The first sock, she said was almost impossible. In my experience that is true. She also gave me this piece of advice: Heels are the most difficult part. She said to practice turning the heel before making real socks and practice it several times until you get it right. She also said to do a heel when you are not tired or stressed, and to only start it when you have the time to finish the heel. She knew one sock pattern and used that for all her socks, men's kid's and womens. All she did was make the sock larger or smaller. Here are some web resources to help you. This site has lots of helpful advice for the beginning soak maker: http://www.cometosilver.com/socks/ and here's her super easy very first sock: http://www.cometosilver.com/socks/SockClass_Start.htm Here's an article with all the basics of socks and what goes into them: http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEspring05/FEATsocks101.html and here's a mini training sock pattern: http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEspring05/images/trainingsock.txt you don't wear this sock, you learn with this sock Here's a beginner sock pattern in PDF from Ravelry http://www.ravelry.com/dl/leslie-gonzalez-designs/17361?filename=beginner_s_socks_pdf.pdf A bunch of sock pattern links: http://www.knitaddicted.com/html/20.html Lots of general knitting help here: http://www.knittinghelp.com/ That should get you started. It's not difficult to knit socks. Oh, and to switch a double pointed needle pattern to circular? Simply cast the stitches onto a circular needle and knit around and around. It's not difficult, you might need to improvise a bit.
