Marriage/Divorce Situtations- Would you....?
Would like some opinions, bth male and female, maritial status unimportant: Would you hypothethicals-- you are a man, find out a woman you work with and dated a few times is pregnant with your child. Not involved in pregnancy at all, was not even told of birth of child (found out thru work grapevine). Woman sued for child support and medical expenses. After DNA testing, judge decalres mother unfit, grants physcial custody of son (now nine months old) to dad, with mom visitation and paying support......very obviously thru in and out court, parents cannot communicate-- would you (in the man's shoes) marry the mother of the son three months later (claims he wanted son to have both parents involved) (PS marriage lasted five weeks when she became physically abusinve to MIL) Would you have married? Fast forward, after 30,000 divorce (dad remains custody, mom visits and pay support), child asks dad to move back in with mom so they can all be a family....he does it!! This lasted three months, five yr old son sexualy molested by mother's older son by previous relationship..... Would you have moved back in?? Fast forward again another four to five years; dad is engaged to another woman, very happy, when child announces at wedding ceremony mom said you would move back in so we could be family!! We have repeatedly told kid (now 12) dad deserves to be happy, and cannot be happy with the son's mother, but mom continues brainwashing the son that stepmom's fault daddy won't live with them.....we have been in and out of counseling for two years. I sometimes dread visitation to the point when the child comes for weekends, I lock myself in the bedroom.....would it be wrong from me to seek out counseling alone? I try not to complicate the situation or put my husband in the middle, but I'm tired of the excuses "we don't know what mom's feeding his head", "cut him some slack, the kid's in the middle" The reason I'm so frustrated is we went for modification of visitation adn support last week; mom has always told schoool, Drs., meidcal, sports that I am stepmom and have no authority, but according to this new decree, I will be expected to transport him to sports events and dr. appts. when she's not available-- I'm not good enough to be a second mom and help with homework, etc., but I can be a babysitter/chauffeur? Anyone like to advice befroe I blow up?? Antidepressanrts and panic attack meds only go so far..... thanks to all willing to give constructive criticism relized i left a part out-- after the abuse, the son went to live with his mom (again he made a request and dad wanted him to be happy, but the kid sees the grass isn't alsways greener; she's had him almost four years, a yr ago we moved one street away so the dcree coul dbe changed dad see him more often.... we get hime ten days a months plus two nights for two hours for dinner, so as the decree is worder she has primary physical custody (not sole), and both have joint legal
