Is it common for a woman to be a size to a size and a half smaller in shoes with heels than with flats?
I usually find I am a size 7-7.5 in heels and an 8-8.5 in flats. Is this common? I want to buy a pair of shoes online but don't know which size to get (they're on sale and probably not returnable), is it better to buy shoes half a size too small or too big?

Yes! Im the exact same way. With heels your foot needs to be more fitted, so your foot is secure and they dont fall off. With sandals and such you kind of like them a little bigger, not completely fitted, for comfort.
