Maria asks…
How do I dress like a female lawyer?
Another girl and I have to be defense lawyers in a mock trial, and need to know how to dress like one. A description of clothing types, colors, and hairstyles are needed. She has short and super curly hair, so we wouldn't be able to do a bun.
Our pick of the answers:
Female lawyers dress very conservatively. They don't wear bright colors (usually don't even have bright-colored nail polish or colored lipstick), they wear long-sleeved white or cream-colored blouses and dark colored or earth tone suits consisting of a woman's suit coat and slacks or skirts just longer than knee-length. The suit coat and slacks/skirt usually match, but no-harm-no-foul if they don't as long as the colors complement each other. They wear flat or low-heeled shoes without open toes (usually pumps) and they wear nylons if wearing a skirt (usually skin-tone colored, no fishnets, no stockings with the lines up the back). If they wear any jewelry at all, they don't wear ornate pieces -- think diamond-stud or pearl earrings in the earlobes only, no bracelets, no more than 3 rings, and small tasteful necklaces or no necklaces at all. Female lawyers with longer hair usually wear it up, but there's nothing wrong with a woman who has short and super-curly hair wearing it naturally -- as long as her hair doesn't look like she's trying to be a rock star or a celebrity chef. General rule is "cute" is OK, "crazy" is not.
Sandy asks…
Does anyone work at a shoe store? Can men try on women's high heels etc?
I'm a sissy transvestite, unfortunately, and I really want to go to Bakers or Aldo or that type of store and try on boots and pumps but I don't know if they let men do that. Thanks.
Our pick of the answers:
I personally helped a man who was in the process of becoming a woman pick out clothing and yes, try on shoes in the store I used to work at. If someone is rude to you, tell their manager. Everyone should be kind and helpful. I was as helpful as I could be, but then, I'm very accepting and I have friends just like you. Do it. Don't let anyone hold you back.
