Your Questions About Stilettos In The Kitchen

Lisa asks…

can u read this plzzzzzz?

ok so im a beggining writer... and i want u to read this and tell me if u would read it... its a vampire romance book.."Kaya come on your bus will be here any minute!" I hear my mom scream, she always likes me to be on time. "Im comeing mom hold up!" I holler while dabbing on my foundation, "I'm coming!" I run down the stairs into the kitchen "Have you eaten yet?" my mom asked. "No," I roll my eyes and go into the pantry, "yes," I pop a cheese-it in my mouth. "ok. now. go." My mom motioned toward the door. "Bye," I mummer while closing the door behind me. WOW, I thought in my mind, my first day of 9th grade, I am finally a freshmen! The bus came and I jumped on with eximent .and sat next to my best friend Emma. "Wow," I looked her up and down, "you look alittle - sluty" I rolled my eyes and laughed. I mean really, she looked like a whore! She was wearing a short, I mean SHORT, skirt with stilettos and a tank top. Not to mention the billion pounds of make-up she slapped on. "Whatever to do to get a boyfriend," she laughed. "Your ******' Pathetic, Em" I could see the flash of pain run through her eyes, she suddenly turned awhile and gazed out the window. "So, what do you have first period?" I spoke up. She turned over to me and studied my face for a few good minutes. She narrowed her gray eyes at me,"P.E," the way she spoke was sharp. "M-me too" I looked at her, then down. Luckily the intense bus ride was over, but now I had to go through an intensive first period! Sence we have an extra fife-teen minutes before P.E, I went to my locker and put up a mirror, hairbrush, lip-gloss, and the usual. Ding-ding-ding. "Oh ****, I'm going to be late!" I slam my locker shut and sprint down the hall way into the locker room. "Your late,'' I look over to see Emma laughing with a group of girls in short skirts. "What the hell are you doing?" I asked "Standing what the **** does it look like?" "No I mean what you are doing with them" "Hangin'" "Wow Em, thirty minuets of high school and your already a whore!" I shrugged my shoulders and throw her a cheesy smile. As I walk away to throw on some gym clothes everyone walked out of the locker room. It suddenly got ice cold, goose bumps fell upon my skin. "H-h-hello? Is anyone there?" My voice echoed back through the empty room. After getting fully dressed I heard a strange voice answer, "Yessss," I gasped to feel a cool chilling breeze run down my spine. "w-what are you doing here? What do you want?" I tried as hard as possible to keep my voice strong with no fear, it didn't work so well. "You have be chossssen" "for what? What do you-"before I could finish my sentence the strange dark figure ran his hand across my cheek, and disappeared. I let out a giant breath that I had been holding in and fell to the floor. I felt around my face to find my cheek. Which I did, but instead of my normal cheek I felt an indent. An indent which was ice old. I finally forced myself off the ground to my feet and sluggishly pulled my body to a mirror, "OH MY GOODNESS!" I screeched. I stared at the reflection of my cheek in the mirror for a long two minutes. My once perfect cheek was now scared! Not like an oh-my-gosh-I-got-a- cut! Instead it was an, oh-my-goodness-I-have-an-ice-blue-colore... on-my-face! The ice blue color matched my sparkaly eyes. HOLD UP! SPARKILY EYES? WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON? I ran my hair through my bangs which brought my attention to them. "Oh goody gumdrops," my hair, it's blonde! Like bleach blonde with light honey brown streaks. My whole appearance has changed! "Oh crap, What do I do?" As the last worlds blurted out of my mouth a green ray of light flashed around the room. "Hello daughter," I couldn't see anyone, but I could sure hear them. "Hello? Who are you? I asked "I am Nyx" I heard a voice call out, "I am the spirt that keeps all vampires and muses balances" When I finally turned around to see her, she was beautiful. Her smiled filled the whole room with warmth and joy. Her loose shiney hazel-nut curls traveled all the way down to the middle of her back. Her moss green eyes sparkled and shined ten times more than mine. She was perfect. "So, what your trying to say is," I had to stop and think about what was going on, "Im a vampire? "no," She let out a short laugh, not a mean one, but a warm nice laugh, "you are what we call 'muses' merely young vampires" "Oh," I shook my head letting her know I understood. .. .thats all i have so far ..the book is called scarred...and im gonna put in more details thats only the first 3 pages

Our pick of the answers:

It needs work. A lot of work. This story, you as a writer - everything. I can't even begin to correct all the things I see wrong in your story. I'm sure other people will though. Also, have you ever read Twilight?

Mary asks…

What is your favorite pocket knife (for anything- utility, self defense, collecting, etc)?

I collect knives and I was curious at to what kind of knives other people like to collect or use everyday. My favorite knife, that I recently acquired, was a 4" Cold Steel Ti-Lite, which resembles the typical Italian bayonet style stilettos of the 1950's. It isn't a switchblade or a spring assist, it is a flick of the wrist knife or a manual opener, so perfectly legal. It is pretty much a self defense knife, although it is sharp enough to use for utility purposes, although it isn't designed for that. So is are your guy's favorite knife and why? I will give 10 points to the person who says what their favorite knife is and thoroughly explains why it is their favorite knife. Oh, and please, no corny answers that insult my intelligence like "butter knife", "plastic knife", "x-acto knife", "letter opener", "kitchen knife", "carpet knife", etc and so forth. I'm looking to hear answers about pocket knife folders only (I will make an exception to the x-acto knife, because it sometimes come in the form of a lockback as a utility knife, or as a manual folder).

Our pick of the answers:

Wow I will have to think hard. I am a big time folding knife collector and have easily over 50 of them. While I rotate some here and there, I have some definite favorites. My best Every-Day-Carry is a discontinued model called CRKT BladeLock by Michael Walker. It's a 3.5 inch otherwise simple folder with a unique feature. It's thumb-stud is the lock, and it locks in its open and closed position. You press the stud into the blade and push. It's easier than it sounds and I can open it faster than most people can do regular folders. Because it locks shut, the pivot is quite smooth and opens very easily once unlocked. Just a great action on it, I've had it for over a decade and it works fine. Also the unique lock actually saved me once. Because it is rather uncommon for a folder to lock shut, most people who pick it up cannot figure out how it works. I used to carry the knife clipped to my back pants pocket, and one time this jerk came up behind me and yanked it out, intending to use it against me. But he couldn't get it to open due to the lock, which gave me time to hit him pretty hard, regain my knife and scare him off with it. When I am at work, I have to keep any knife I carry under 2.5 inches, so I added the Benchmite II to my collection. It's tiny but very well made, and also locks closed with a "levitation lock." I work with children and sometimes people of unsound mind, and while I normally make sure to keep it out of sight, you never know and it's good to know it would probably prevent most people from opening it. Besides, it's a Benchmade, one of the best brands out there. It has a lifetime warranty and sharpening service. Just a handful of others worth mentioning are my SOG Pentagon Elite II, the full sized Applegate-Fairbairn combat folder (these two are my biggest), the CRKT Pharaoh which just looks really cool, and I also have a Cold Steel Ti-Lite in Zytel (cheaper) because I it's just like my father and grandfather's stilettos (they are both Italian).
