Your Questions About Heels For Less

Ruth asks…

Is it okay to wear regular heels for ballroom dancing?

I'm in a beginning ball room dance class and I want to start getting used to wearing heels. But I don't want to drop almost 100 on a pair of dance shoes when I can find regular, comfortable heels for less than that. What difference does it make if I have regular heels or dance heels?

Our pick of the answers:

If the heels do not scratch the floor and are not backless, then you are probably fine. Ask your teacher, he/she may not want any street shoes on the floor, in which case, you will have an issue. I dance with my university's ballroom club, and most of the women wear regular shoes. If you are just starting, you probably have nothing to worry about.

Maria asks…

where can i get a pair of black heels in the uk?

i have a simple hot pink evening gown, and a black satin clutch bag and feather corsage for prom. where can i get a pair of either black satin heels or a pair of silver strappy sandals (preferably on the high street) that aren't to expensive but also have a 9 cm or less heel, as i don't want them to be uncomfortable. thank you :)

Our pick of the answers:

New look, primarkk ... Pretty much anywhere really, just have a shop around :) good luck and have a lushh prom night :) xx
