Your Questions About High Heels For Men

Lizzie asks…

What is the point of high heels?

I mean they wreck our feet, make us walk funny, and were designed by men to make us not be able to run...

Our pick of the answers:

High heels were never designed to stop women running away. If that was the reason for heels, women wouldn't like wearing them, and plenty do. They're supposed to make your legs look longer and put a wiggle in your walk. If you find a good pair of heels that fit well, they shouldn't hurt or make it difficult to walk. Trust me, I sell shoes for a living. I find that stilletto heels, pointy shoes and strappy sandals are hard to walk in, but a shoe with a chunky heel is much better, however high the heels are. It's all about your centre of gravity and how much surface area of shoe is on the floor. If you don't want to wear heels, you don't have to wear them. There are lots of nice shoes out there that are flat.

Jenny asks…

is it morally correct for men to wear high heels?

Our pick of the answers:

Yes. High heels were originally invented to be worn by men. Also, they were popularized by Louis XIV, who was a divine-right monarch who ruled in the name of God. And since God is the head honcho on moral issues... Yes, definitely. In fact, it's immoral for men NOT to wear high heels. Go get some heels, now!
