How do you depict a switchblade knife in a production of "Twelve Angry Men"?

We're performing "Twelve Angry Men." The script requires, as props, two identical switchblade knives. Switchblade knives are illegal. Are there legal stageprops available anywhere that look like switchblade knives? This is a commonly produced play. What does everybody else do?

Some budget: most gag gift stores have switchblade combs which could be modified (found on Amazon for $6) Low or no budget: look up "switchblade gag gift" or "redneck switchblade," these are pretty simple clothespins, popsicle stick, and rubber band devices that, with a little paint, can provide respectable effect on stage. In westside story, we used plastic knives. The prop shouldn't make or break the play.
