Are stiletto nails becoming a new trend? Has anybody tried it?

Seems like nails that are longer filed to a point is a new trend. Look at the following pics. http://www.ayr-nails.co.uk/nails-gallery.html Has anybody ever had their nails like this and what do you think? Guess it must be in Europe.

I think it's more of a trend between nail techs, because I've seen them on a lot of techs! The ones on that site aren't too flattering to me, but I've seen some real nice ones. I'd try them out but I can't work with such long nails. Also, I might lose an eye!
