Mary asks…
I don't know if they are fake?
I bought a pair of gucci or guess shoes i dont know if its gucci or guess, anyway, it was from an outlet store. Anyway it had a silver g in front of the flats and on the shoe it had g all over and it looked like a handbag. In the inside of the shoe it said go fresh, and on the soles too. It also said made in china. How do i know if they are fake?
Our pick of the answers:
If they're made in China it's definitely a fake. Also it says go fresh and neither Gucci or guess shoes have that in there shoes.
Susan asks…
Will sticking a screwdriver in an outlet really shock you? if so, why?
Even if you are touching the metal shaft, you are still only touching one side which may be hot, but you don't have a complete path for the electricity to go thru you to ground (assumming you are wearing shoes and not touching anything else - or standing in water!). If you know the answer please explain. No lame guesses from morons please!
Our pick of the answers:
You are right to question the the flowpath of the current. If your body isn't grounded you wil NOT be shocked. I have done this many times while working on live switches, etc. The problem remains: What constitutes sufficient grounding to cause current to flow? A pair of shoes with rubber soles on a non-conductive floor has more than enough resistance to prevent noticable shocking. The difficulty is with all the grounding sources around the electrical outlet. The do-gooders who want to "improve" safety actually cause the odds of getting shocked to escalate by grounding everything in sight around electrical equipment, which increases the odds you will be touching something that will provide a return path for the current.
