Your Questions About High Heels For Cheap

Carol asks…

How should i wear the high heel ?

How should i wear the high heel ? i never wear high heel..but i like high heel..i think it is so sexy for girl..so how should i wear the high heel ?

Our pick of the answers:

First you need to practice!!!!!!!! Trust me girl you don't want to look like a cow on ice. So go and buy a cheap pair of high heels and just practice practice practice. First practice standing in them then take few steps, as you walk remember to keep your legs straight (very important) and just continue to stroll around the house. Once you feel comfortable enough to walk in them then you're ready to walk in them in public.

Lizzie asks…

When are high heels appropriate?

I've always been a bit of a tom boy, and I'm adding heels to the closet...also trying to figure out what everyday casual would be for a woman in her 30s, but I have no idea what I should wear them with, what height should they be, when it's ok to wear them and when it looks...well, not so great...any help would be appreciated!

Our pick of the answers:

Heels are for glamour - and overused these days. The sky high heels used to be reserved for hookers, and it's sad to see everyone wearing them for daytime or even at all. They also damage your back. Really think about whether you need them for anything other than special occasion - wearing any heel does throw your back out of alignment, and you end up paying for it later in life - with constant pain. If you have thus gotten away with not wearing them, keep in mind that a lot of trendy shoes are still flat or you could even stick to kitten heels. Kitten heels can be worn with dress pants, expensive jeans or dresses and skirts. They can give the style of a heel, while not ruining the angle of your lower back. Short boots are great with jeans - but keep the heel lower or it does start to look cheap. Here's a good basic pump to start with - the platform makes them seem like higher heels than they are, and the reasonable price lets you try some heels while not investing in something you may decide you so not want to wear: http://www.dsw.com/shoe/nine+west+karoo+platform+sandal?prodId=219209&category=dsw12cat2160040&activeCats=cat10006,dsw12cat2160040 These would be fine with an all-season wool sheath dress (if you are looking for a good solid career wardrobe, look at the Pendleton catalog) or a ponte knit dress. It's better to have a couple plain dresses that are well made and comfortable, and then you can add different scarves or necklaces to change the look. But a couple of black or navy blue anchor pieces will get you started. You can look at the pictures for the whole look - including which shoes to wear with which outfit. The basic rule about heels should be that the higher they are, the more attention you are looking for. Low heels are fine for work, if the setting is professional. Medium should be for things like weddings and professional functions, and then higher heels should be reserved for formal occasions like cocktail parties when an evening dress is appropriate. When you are looking around, you will find people wear very high heels with those hideous jeggings, and all sorts of other things that aren't right. Since the internet arrived, marketing has been to young girls and anyone else who has a bit of money, and they think they are buying "glamour" - even when the heels are so high they cannot walk, and they are being worn with outfits that should be worn to clean the house. Nothing like a middle aged overweight woman teetering on heels that yell out for sex, while what you see is more like "TimBERRR...". Something has been lost...and don't get me started on the teenagers - Stick to lower heels for now, and work your way up. It really does affect your body, and the affect it will have on the world in general may or may not be worth it to you. Wearing heels can actually hurt you, a fact that unfortunately is missed by too many. But in addition to that, too high in the wrong setting just isn't glamor at all.
