Sandy asks…
How to make your feet look good?
Ok so this is probably not a question u would get asked but I want to know of there's a way to make my feet look nicer. First off, the bottoms go red. Also I have big big toes and their nails don't grow very long. Well they do but end up breaking. I am very insecure about my feet. Any tips on how to grow your toe nails so they don't break and also make your feet look nicer and not feel so insecure about them?

Dont worry! I think I can help here! The first thing youll want to do is soak your feet. Just fill up a bucket or bowl or even your tub with some nice warm water. Just let them soak. You might want to add something to the water like tea bags (tea has lots of benefits for our skin). After theyve soaked for a while youll want to scrub them. Take a sugar or sea salt scrub (no need to buy one. Theyre really easy to make! For my feet, i make a sugar scrub, just put some sugar in a bowl and mix in some water or oil, depending on your preference. Add just enough liquid to make a nice scrub.) and a pumice stone (or something similar. You wont want to do this with just your hands, as it can really wear away at them) and scrub the heels of your feet (and anywhere else that feels dry) in circular motions. Now rise! Pat them dry and apply some lotion. Any kind. You can choose from something light to something think, depending on how dry your skin is. Do this right after you dry them, so it can help retain as much moister as possible. You just got rid off all the dead skin on your feel and filled them with moister. This should leave them silky smooth. You mentioned that they get red so this should really help :) . Next step! Cut, trim and file your toe nails. Although painting is optional, it can really make your toes look nice. Because you mentioned that sometimes your nails break right off, i would suggest using a strengthening nail polish. I know that Sally Hansen makes some good ones. They come in everything from gels to polishes. Colors to clear. Most of them are basically protein treatments since our nails are made basically of protein. OK! You should have some pretty piggies now! Yay! :)
Lizzie asks…
I have posterior heel pain. What is it and how can I get relief?
The back (not the bottom) of my heel hurts badly when I walk. It's not swollen or red, just sharp pains that progressively get worse week by week. What could this be and how can I get pain relief? I spend a lot of time on my feet with a disabled child so resting it is pretty much out of the question.
Our pick of the answers:
See your health care provider as soon as possible (podiatrist or orthopedic surgeon), for consultation. The most frequent causes of heel pain are sometimes referred to as injuries, but they aren't due to a single event such as a fall or twist. Each of the following problems usually brings tenderness and some swelling. Plantar Fasciitis Bursitis Achilles Tendinitis The retrocalcaneal bursa is a fluid-filled sac that surrounds the back of the heel. This may become inflamed (bursitis) due to pressure from shoes. For this reason, it is sometimes called a "pump bump." The inferior calcaneal bursa is located underneath the heel. Inflammation here is usually caused by landing hard or awkwardly on the heel. Resting for seven to ten days and taking a pain reliever with each meal will help relieve the initial problem. For retrocalcaneal bursitis, getting a new shoe or stretching the old shoe so that there is no rubbing against the heel is recommended. Moleskin may be used to relieve pressure from the "pump bump." See a doctor for a proper diagnosis and treatment. I hope this helps you. And good luck.
