Your Questions About High Heels

Ruth asks…

Girls, why do you wear high heels?

When you wear high heels, are you doing it because you like it or to be attractive to guys? Or both? How do you feel when you wear them? Does you boyfriend or husband like it when you do? Or does he think that it makes you too tall? And how long have you been wearing heels?

Our pick of the answers:

Well I wear high heels because I'm am only 5'1 in height and I don't really want to appear short, so my favorite pair of heels are 4 inches high. 1+ 4 = 5 so that would make me 5'5. Since I'm only 14 and I looked it up that I will grow to be at least 5'3 if I wear 4 in. Heels when I'm 5'3 I'll appear to be 5'7 haha get it? I also wear them because I want to model when I get older so it's good practice. Although I'll never be tall enough for runway :/ But there is always magazine and commercial modeling :)

Mary asks…

girls learning walking with high heels?

i ld like to wear high heels and to learn walking with, but i never wore some. girls can u give me some advices, what shoes wearing and how walk?

Our pick of the answers:

Hi, :) walking in high heels is a difficult thing to do. But keep at it. Start small like walking around your house with them to walking down your street. Then after a month (dont rush it) walk around the mall to really try or just go out with friends on a day out. Make sure to wear comfy insoles, pop socks, tights or socks if it helps comfort. The balls of your feet wont hurt then The best ones to start with are mid heel shoes or boots as you aren't too far from the ground. After a while wedges are your friend as they have continued support from toe to heel and if you like being trendy then espadrills are very pretty and not that expensive. After a few months of steady high heel wearing, you can buy your first pair of killer party heels. These will be high but you should buy them and walk around (again) your house/home/apt/flat or garden or yard. Start small. Good advice? Roll your hips a bit and dont be nervous. Dont walk pigeon footed and just remember: yes there will be a time when your foot may bend left or right but it is worth it to compliment an outfit with a beautiful pair of heels. But dont forget, mid heels for training, wedges/espedrills for intermediate and highs for advnaced. But take your time. There is nothing worse than a girl who keeps falling over or has to go to hospital because she broke up her ankle Happy shoe wearing and girls were born to walk in heels. All you need is patience and help. X

Your Questions About Ladies Shoes Size 12

Mary asks…

What should I wear for my Zombie/dead girl costume?

So I decided I want to be a Zombie girl for this Halloween, but I have no idea on what to wear? I have gotten a makeup artist to do my "dead girl" makeup, but I have no idea what to wear to complete my look? Any suggestions I would really appreciate it, thanks guys! :)

Our pick of the answers:

When you want to be both dead AND cute, whether for Halloween or your Zombie Prom, I've got a few tips and tricks for dead zombie girls everywhere. Oh yes, you see being dead and decomposing doesn't mean you have to be revolting. One of those zombie masks with eyeballs sliding down your face is good for a giggle if you are a kid, but when you've got a hot date (dead or alive?) a girl needs to go to a little more effort. How else will you convince him to leave his brains at the door (yummy!) and follow you into the cursed realm of the living dead? But do not worry your pretty little head full of brainssss, my dears. I ventured out one wild and spooky night to interview a few of the cutest dead girls I could find in the local graveyard. I'm not telling what I had to do to get them to spill their beauty secrets... It's enough to say I picked up a few tips on how to be dead gorgeous... Or is that gorgeous dead? Either way, keep reading to find out how I'm going to be a cute zombie girl this year... And how you can be too! Your Zombie Dress. Cute zombie girls dress to kill. Get the filthy gorgeous look here! Zombies tend to look like they have been through a hedge backwards. Come to think of it, that's because they probably have. Think about it. Your average zombie girl has spent days or weeks... Even years... Being dead. Now she is ready to party. But the best boutiques in town don't open their doors to zombies so she will have to make do with the dress she was buried in. It might have a hole or two or be ragged around the edges, but what do you expect after clambering out of a tomb and staggering around the graveyard? That's why I love the Zombie prom dress featured below. It's so glam but at the same time unmistakably zombified. This dress is a MUST for the in-fashion Zombie Girl! A dress to die for! This is THE dress for cute zombie girls to be seen in this year. The Zombie Prom Queen Adult Costume is of course perfect for a zombie prom but just as stylish for Halloween. You can wear it with or without the 'Zombie Prom Queen' sash that comes with it. You also get that cute tiara and the gorgeous zombie glovelettes. The prom dress itself has a wonderfully tattered skirt and a fitted bodice. Simply add your own shoes and corsage, plus jewelry. Zombie prom dress available in 4/6, 8/10, and 12/14 ladies sizes. Your Zombie Accessories. Dead girls know how to accessorize. Death becomes her... OK, you've got your gorgeous dress. Now for the rest of you. A real zombie girl might go around barefoot.... Probably with a few toes missing.... But we need to talk practical here. Are you going to a party or out trick-or-treating? Personally, I love the big stompy footwear look for zombie girls. But if you want some murderous stilettos to match that dress, go for it! Wear or carry some dead flowers. Aritificial black roses also work well. Finally, remember some jewelry. Skulls are a good look for a girl who hangs out in graveyards. Zombie shoes with blood splatters.... Killer heels. These killer heels are just what every self-respecting zombie girl is wearing around town. Red Blood Splatter Shoes are available in US size 7, 8, 9 and 10. The hottest zombie shoes in town! Sweet Dead Things. Zombie girls have style! Just because you are a zombie doesn't mean you can't have some flowers and sparkle. Get a real diamond skull and crossbones pendant, or save a little with cubic zirconia. A black feather rose is a stylish alternative to dead flowers and will last a lot longer. Your Zombie Make Up. Dead zombie girls need to look...well...dead. Look lively and give yourself a makeover here! Yes, I know you want to look cute but did you ever see a dead girl with a fresh complexion and roses in her cheeks? Didn't think so. To be convincing as a dead girl you either have to: 1. Be dead, or 2. Give yourself a thorough makeover. I suggest the second option. But hey, it's your funeral. Your Zombie Hairstyle. Cute dead girls have a bad hair day every day! When it comes to your zombie hairdo... Go wild! You can spend an hour on your hair but when you are finished it has got to look like you just had the worst night of your life. Use your own hair or wear a wig. Just make sure it is big and messy. Simple as that.

Linda asks…

Whats an easy way to convert my size's to womens size's?

Well to start, I ama boy trying to dress up like a girl. I just started to try dressing up about a week ago. I was wondering if there is an easy way to find out my size in womens clothes. The main things like dress size, bra size, shoes, and how panties size works? Its hard to go look around a store for womens clothes because people stare. I just want to buy somthing that fits. Any help is appreciated, Thanks

Our pick of the answers:

Ok here goes one way to tell a size is go over to the sewing dept and grab on of the patterns and check the sizes here is another way let say you wear a men size jeans 30 waist..you more than likely will wear a women's size 12 in jeans and maybe a 10 or 12 in dresses bras..just measure under your breast and that the size your wearing if your also wearing a mens size 30 waist your panties should be a 6 or a 7 or you can go into the store..tell the lady that you need it for a play at school or that your in one of those mock beauty pageants for charity they will gladly help you out and think nothing of it

Your Questions About Heels For Less

Carol asks…

Does wearing heeled shoes get less awkward as you enter high school?

I own a pair of high-heeled ankle boots that I love, but it feels painfully awkward to wear them to school. I am in 8th grade, and I'm hoping that when I move up to high school next year it'll be less of an anomaly for a girl to wear loud heels. Do high schoolers still panic about teachers when they hear clicking steps coming down the hallway, or are heels more 'acceptable' there?

Our pick of the answers:

I would say it is not akward at all in High School as a lot of girls wear heels. I wore them everyday, even quite high ones and never felt out of place. As far as the guy who says he hates when girls wear heels, get over it, just because you don't like it doesn't mean we can't wear them just to please you. A lot of guys (my bf included) loves when girls wear heels and I like to wear them so, too bad. :P

Jenny asks…

Where to buy heel less shoes?

I'm not talking about flats, I mean those high heels with the heel taken off. http://images2.solestruck.com/jeffrey-campbell-shoes/Jeffrey-Campbell-shoes-Vicious-%28Black-Fuchsia-Neoprene%29-010604.jpg I go on some websites and they're either too expensive or sold out. Could you recommend some websites that sell heel less shoes, thank you :)

Your Questions About Ladies Shoes For Men

Helen asks…

Ladies, if you came into work after hours and discovered one of you male coworkers in dress heels N hose?

I'm just curious how some of you ladies would react if you come in late to discover you worked with a crossdresser? and you do notice that I'm not dressed tastelessly but actually look well put together? Would you be supportive? would you use it as blackmail?

Our pick of the answers:

I would be a little surprised but I wouldnt spread it around-its his personal choice and its private to him and it wouldnt affect my opinion of him! Definitely not something to blackmail the poor man about! It would however put me off dating him, I dont want a boyfriend who borrows my shoes!

Your Questions About High Heels High Hopes T Shirt

Sandy asks…

Does the pain of a break up eventually catch up to you?

My ex and I broke up about a month ago. We were "talking" since December and have been very comfortable/close since then..made it "official" later on. He said he realized he wasn't "ready" to be in a relationship, not the right time and he can't give me what I need and want right now. We ended things on "good terms" but I haven't spoken to him since. He sent me a long text message the next day apologizing again, saying he felt horrible that he had a change of heart and that he still cares about me but it wasn't the right time. I never replied back. I'm usually one to be cordial w. exes or past guys but this time, I couldn't talk to him...didn't hate him or was super angry, just couldn't do it. What's funny is that when we met, I felt how much he cared about me. There's no 3rd party; he just can't do "relationship" or "girlfriend" now bc he's selfish. His family/friends said he was "head over heels", "completely opposite than all his exes" (who were dramatic, high maintinence and clingy). I'm the first girl his age he's ever dated (23; exes were younger) and he (and his friends) always tell me i'm "everything he wants in a girl". It was the first time, I could still be secure, confident, independent while still be w. someone I cared about...same w. him too. We were good to each other; i was a good gf to him, never held him back fr anything...and in a way, i think i encouraged him to be himself and indepdenent. For a breakup, I've been doing more than okay compared to past situations. There are times it's sad, I cry and miss him but I've prayed and God's been taking care of me. I've been blessed to be busy - got a new job, been working out, new friends @ work...just taking MORE care of myself. It's been a month and it just killed me. I finally felt that "deep sadness". I MISS the guy...not the memories or what we did, not the routine...i miss HIM. His attitude, seeing him, his voice, all of the above. And i learned a valuable lesson that it's not the person's car, looks, status that hooks you in...it's the PERSON. He had a job but wasn't wealthy, he had a car but it wasn't a BMW, he wasn't the most handsome or the tallest but he made me smile...most importantly, he was a good person, especially to me. I've been avoiding fb and i cracked on checked on him. Apparently he's been feeling "horrible" abt the break up, he's been givin the same reason to his family/friends, and I feel that he's a completely different person than when i first met him...and it's for the better. I should be happy but it's intimidating. He goes out to clubs/bars now all dressed up. Before he would wear t-shirts, blazers, now it's nice collared shirts; he's been "working on his car" for the past2 yrs he's been single but is NOW completely focused on his car and is making so much progress. He's a family guy but is now declaring his love for his mom. I've never heard him talk about his mom that way...and in pictures, he doesn't seem like this goofy kid anymore...he's turning into this man...i'm proud of him...and i truly miss him but deep down inside, i just can't talk to him right now, don't know why....i know that it really isn't the right time for a relationship for me now and the idea of being "just friends", kills me. I'm not expecting anything at all and am just enjoying ME now but I can only hope and pray that I would be blessed to be w. someone like him. My co-worker (a mom) has this "mom intuition" that he'll come back bc she FEELS that his mom was feelin his hurt and talked to him about me (I don't believe it)...and she thinks that him "changing" for the better is bc of me (don't believe that either)... Thoughts? his roomate also told me he wants to give me back an item i left at his place but she said he "wasn't sure whether it was okay to text me"...(?)

Our pick of the answers:

I, myself, have done well with breakups. I was only affected by one breakup. I think it might depend on your emotional maturity.

Thoughts?

Our pick of the answers:

One thing i couldn't help but noticed you're seem to be trapped in a cage with mixed emotions. A part of you is happy and ready to move on. This is the part where you're absolutely okay with not talking to him or getting involved with his life. It also kind of sound like you're not sure if he's really what you wanted. The way you describe him is not the way a girl who describes a guy who she fell madly in love with. The other part is your unfulfilled wants/needs of a relationship which is pretty normal. Everyone who is going through a breakup always have this what-if and i-miss-him moments. We also think of what if I did this...could it have gone to a better path. You can't blame yourself for thinking that though. You had been dating this guy for awhile. Your pyshcological state of your mind/body is some what link to his presence, which makes you miss the interaction/feelings/sensation/emotions from him. Just an insight, if a guy says he's not ready for an offcial "relationship", that simply means a) he thinks you're a wonderful girlfriend but he wants something more or b) he's not ready to commit his loyalty/fedility because he wants to see what other options are out there. At our age of 20s, most of us guys, 90% if not more, unfortunately does not know what we wanted in life. If we decided to stick with someone then knowing later on that we might cheat on them... Guys tend to take the risky route of its-better-if-we're-not-on-a-relationship as precautionary approach. Having said that, if there's such thing as love exists...then everything I said above is meaningless. Supposedly love would conquer everything. If you love him or he loves you then you guys are going to make back together sooner or later. As an advice, just clear up your head and think of what you really want. Do you want him back or do you miss having someone really close to you? The answer lies within you. I wish you luck and I hope everything turns out ok!

Your Questions About Heels

Jenny asks…

How do you make heels more comfortable?

I am short and wearing heels are uncomfortable to me, how can I make them more comfy or which shoes are comfy?

Our pick of the answers:

Heels look great, but regardless of how comfortable they feel, your arches will begin to hurt if you wear them all day. However, we all want to look good, so here's some tips: -If they are rubbing on a certain area of your foot, put a padded bandaid there. This works if you are wearing pumps which cover much of your foot. -If they are strappy shoes that would look silly with a bandaid, rub some vasaline on the area of your foot thats rubbing against the shoe. This will help to prevent blisters. -You can buy shoe inserts for heels now at Rite aid, CVS, Walmart, etc. Which really make a difference!! I would recommend getting heels 1/2 a size too large if you plan on putting inserts in them though, otherwise your foot might feel too crowded. -The most comfortable heels I have are thong sandal heels, they have the same pressure points as flip flops so I'm used to wearing them. Hope that helped...

Maria asks…

How do I tighten high heels a little bit?

My heels are slightly, a tiny bit stretched out so if I put them on, I can make my heel slip out (it doesn't happen when I walk, but they're not that snug). Is there something I can put in them to make them a tiny bit smaller so they're snug again?

Our pick of the answers:

Try getting some heel grips. I know Payless sells some, but I'm sure you could find them elsewhere too. Basically you just insert them into your shoes and it helps keep them on your feet if your shoes are a bit too big.

Susan asks…

Where to find CUTE, INEXPENSIVE shoes for young women with larger feet???

I am 6 feet even and where a size 12 shoe in women, but I'm only 22 so I surely don't want shoes that look like I'm 65+ nor like I'm 16(no offense).

Our pick of the answers:

Obviously these other answerers don't have large feet - size 13 here baby! Pay less sometimes have larger shoes, but never a great selection. Tall Girl is a great place to go, stylish shoes but a bit pricey, get there on a sale day, never tried online, but I might try that myself. Oh ya, after I had my baby, my shoe size increased! Doesn't happen to all women, but makes it tough to get those cute shoes! Good luck

Link: http://picturepush.com/public/3755238 Suggest bottom wear, shoes, and accessories!! Thank you..! I'm 16. Medium built. Asian complexion... nething else?

Our pick of the answers:

Since the top isnt totally skin tight, you should wear dark (but still nice) skinny jeans. The neck is kind of high, so no necklace, try a matching bracelet, also red. If its for a date and you want to look nice, then red high heels, or if you don't have it then black high heels, pumps, almost anything black matches :D just dont wear yellow shoes >_< you can wear rings too. I dont think a skirt will look too great with it, but you can search through your closet and look for something. For a sporty chic look, wear converse or airwalk, DC, or anything you're comfortable with. Good luck! Oh and also, try a loose black/dark blue/whatever suits you jacket. If you need one, that is. I think the top is very elegant and flattering :)

Jenny asks…

can i wear black and gray dress with nude heels?

i have a dress that is gray on top and black on the bottom, like a babydoll type of dress... i was wondering if i would be able to wear nude high heels... like platform heels... the cute ones that are in style right now.. its for my best friends bridal shower, so i dont want to stand out too much.

Our pick of the answers:

I don't think that would look right. Nude would look better with neutral colors - not really black and white. Brightly colored (like red, green, blue, purple, pink, etc.)or white heels would look good with black and grey

Sandra asks…

Where can I buy stylish wide fit shoes?

I have very wide feet which have been made even wider due to my very attractive bunions. I find it very hard to find shoes that fit me well. I'm a size 5 but I normally buy a size 6 and even that is too narrow for me. Anyone know of any places that sell fashionable shoes with a very wide fit? I'm looking for shoes and pumps as well as heels. I know I can get old lady proper shoes but I want something that looks good as well as fits :) Thanks!

Our pick of the answers:

Go to new look shoes, they have a wide fit section :D

Your Questions About Heels Over Head

Mandy asks…

"head over heels"??? what does it mean plz?

Our pick of the answers:

Head over heels Meaning Excited, and/or turning cartwheels to demonstrate one's excitement. Origin 'Head over heels' is now most often used as part of 'head over heels in love'. When first coined it wasn't used that way though and referred exclusively to being temporarily the wrong way up. It is one of many similar phrases that we use to describe things that are not in their usual state - 'upside-down', 'topsy-turvy', 'topple up tail', 'arse over tea-kettle', 'bass-ackwards' etc.

Susan asks…

What's with the phrase "head over heels"?

Isn't your head already over your heels? I know what it means, but it just doesn't make sense!

Our pick of the answers:

You're right! The logical order is the opposite, and that's precisely what we find in other expressions ("upside-down", "topsy-turvy". . . And some racier ones) http://www.randomhouse.com/wotd/index.pperl?date=19960517 http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/head-over-heels.html Not only so, but the ORIGINAL form of the expression (first attested in the 14th century) is exactly what you would expect, "heels over head". And there have been those who have insisted on retaining that form (e.g., Baum in the Oz books). But by the 18th century (first known example 1771) the confused, reversed form began to be used... And during the 19th century it took over. Why? Well it might have been a simple mistake by someone not thinking. (And perhaps, once it got started, some thought the notion was that of flipping FORWARD.). Frankly, I think the best explanation for how the mistaken version started and took hold is fairly easy if you simply try to say each expression out loud, several times (fast!). It is simply EASIER and more natural to say "head over heels" (Michael Quinion has written about this on his own site. But oddly, in editing this article from an earlier form he omitted a very similar suggestion --that it may have been that authors "found the stress pattern of 'head over heels more persuasive than the older form." Actually, it's not exactly the "stress pattern", since that would be the same for each expression; it is the order of the sounds -- the newer order is easier to articulate.)
