Sandy asks…
Are these proper tennis shoes?
I need shoes for tennis, and I'm not sure if these are proper tennis court shoes? If not, what are some shoes under $30 that I can use for tennis? http://www.target.com/C9-Champion-Regina-Court-Shoes/dp/B001GS0YTM/sr=1-19/qid=1251857011/ref=sr_1_19/192-2782410-7775417?ie=UTF8&search-alias=tgt-index&frombrowse=0&index=target&field-browse=1239516011&rank=price&rh=k%3Atennis%20shoes%2Cn%3A1041816&page=1 http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpageWSPRINCE-PFWWP.html maybe these then?

Maria asks…
I'm starting tennis, do I need special tennis shoes?
I'm planning on just playing recreationally with my friends. Are special tennis court shoes necessary? I have 2 pairs of athletic shoes, one for running and one for training. Running: http://www.underarmour.com/shop/us/en/pcid1201536?003=3074531&010=1201536&cid=SE%7CGoogle&campaign=gbase&CAWELAID=294265706 Training: http://www.alssports.com/Nike-Zoom-Sister-One--Training-Shoe---Womens/PAAAIANFKJPECLIG/product?CAWELAID=544480483 I would probably wear the Nikes. Are these shoes fine for tennis?

Our pick of the answers:
As a beginning player, you do not need "tennis" shoes. Running shoes aren't the best either because they aren't designed for side to side movement. I agree with you, the Nikes are the way to go.
