Which look the best for my costume (cosplay)?

I am making a costume or to any anime fans a cosplay. However I am having trouble with the shoes. I am 5'9 and have no balance what so ever. I need to have a pair of over the knee lace up white boots for my costume, however finding a pair with out some five inch heel is near impossible and I will not make boot covers. I have even tried to find some with out laces and have come up with the same results. I have looked up knee high ones, but I just can not decide! My costume is more historical so I want something that would look classy. I like number 4 the best. They look enough like the character's boots to pass. Other suggestions: those really tall Converse boot things that go almost to your knee. Or if you can't afford any you could wear white socks or stockings and draw the laces on with marker. That's the low-budget option (I did something similar with my Chell cosplay Long Fall Boots. They look pretty decent, actually).

I need some trainers with raised arcs as I have flat feet/over pronate.. but I hate asics shoes!?

Ok it's not that I hate asics trainers. These were the best three I found (for severe over pronating)... Any ideas? I know I'm picky!

You should have a thumb nail width away from the front of the shoe and should be able to spread your toes and wiggle them. You also want to make sure the width is good, if any part of your foot is hanging over the sole it is too narrow of a shoe. Some of the sneakers are offered in widths. Also a misconception with the sneakers that offer arch support is that you should feel something pressed up into the arch. Not True, it should feel so comfortable, like there is nothing there. This means that it is hitting your arch in the proper spots to give it good support. If you feel a bump in the arch it could mean a few different things: Size is off whether it be length or width and/or the sneaker is not right for your foot. Everyone's foot is different and what is good for one person's foot is not necessarily the best thing for your foot. From there the specific models of sneakers I would look at for over pronation/flat feet are: Saucony - Stabil CS and Hurricane 12 Brooks - Adrenaline 10, Ariel, and Addiction New Balance - 993 1225 and 850 Go down to a local running specialty store and try some on, take them for a test run and compare them. Do not buy running sneakers online unless you have figured out what works best for your feet.

Why do people think it's wrong to step on bugs?

I'm 24, have a professional job, and I still tend to flatten a bug if I see it crawling around my feet. If I'm playing tennis and I see one on the court, I'll be honest: I'll probably slide my foot over it to squash it. I've never had a problem stepping on them, even throughout college, and I've stepped on a lot of them over the years. I know that some people consider it wrong, but it seems pretty normal to me. Most of my male friends don't think twice about planting a foot over some busy anthill on the sidewalk, nor do I, and I've done that plenty of times. Hell, the more exoskeletons gunked up on my shoe, the better. I can definitely think of more painful ways for a bug to die than getting instantly crushed beneath the treads of a gigantic sneaker. Why would it be wrong? The rationale of "I do it because I can" might be the one used by bullies, and it holds true for me I think. Does that mean I view bugs as less significant than me? Well, yeah I guess I do. But is that necessarily wrong? I don't personally think so, it's an advantage of being bigger.

Do you think you can wear these very high (6inch) heels to a wedding?

My gf is on the short size, that's why she wears high heels almost daily. Her highest ones are 5 inch but now she bought a pink pair on the web that goes great with her pink dress but they are 6(!) inch high. That's putting her body weight vertically on her tiptoes. I wonder if she can wear them the entire day on that upcoming wedding without taking them off. I am trying to find a pair of comfortable black pumps for interviews and work. Nothing higher than 3" unless there's a significant platform. I actually prefer a pair with platform if possible (to lower the height). Any suggestions, I don't mind paying more for a pair, up to a certain extent, but they have to be comfortable and last a long time.

Are naturalizer, nine west shoes genuine leather?

I used to believe whatever shoes marked as leather are made of real leather. Only recently I bought a pair of naturalizer flats, and a pair f nine west bootie, and found the texture of both shoes appear to be synthetic materials. Why? There is absolutely no stretch to the "leather"; they are not breathable; no "pores" on the surface; no leather small; the other side of "leather" feels rubbery. When I looked at inside of the shoes, both says "Leather upper manmade balance". However, even the upper does not appear to be real leather. I wonder what is your experience? For me, it is a gross fraud for these two big shoe brands to mark something synthetic as "leather".

Your uppers are leather...however they are what is known in our trade as corrected grain leather uppers ...in other words ...high quality.top grain leather is split and the unfinished leather beneath it is embosed removing the "pores" as you call it / grain.. Making the leather firmer and easier to work with during the production shoe making process .... The rubbery feel on the inside/other side you are refering is more than likely a synthetic lining ....however not all naturalizers and nine west ladies shoes have liners in them.. Aside from the toe puffs and heel counter liners..... Lesser quality and lower priced corrected grain leather is used by some shoe manufacturers to reduce material costs and improve profits while consumers like yourself end up buying lower quality shoes at premium prices ..........I hope I was able to help .....have a nice day ....

I needed a size 9 shoe in women's, but they gave me a 7youth instead...?

Is that around the same size? I bought the shoes for my girlfriend, so I'm hoping they weren't looking at my shoes and guessing I needed a smaller size. Anyways, does anyone know if that would be the correct size? I asked 2 different employees there if the shoes they gave me were the equivalent to a 9 womens and they said yes, yet they look a bit small. Thank you =] Yeah they said they gave me a 7 mens shoe every time I asked, but on shoe, it says 7Y ....so I don't really know ok that's a bit of a relief =] I tried them on and they were a bit big on me, which is good because I have smaller feet than her =P. Yes it should be the same size because sometimes i buy the shoes in youth sizes (they're cheaper! :] ) and it runs about 1 or 2 sizes down. But it also depends on what kind of shoe you got her. Yeah the shoe salesmen always do that cuz they get paid by commision so they're just getting you to buy any shoe hm when i get nikes they go down 1.5 a size but i get air forces. If those don't fit, she could loosen up the laces and sometimes you need to break em in before they fit good (like vans) if not, its best to just return them. Oh yeah and while she's "breaking them in" (if they don't fit right) only do that inside the house cuz once you wear them out, you cannot exchange them. Those are cute btw! Lol
