Our pick of the answers:

Those shoes are so cute!! I would skinny jeans, either light or dark, but dark would look better. I would also loosen the laces and wear them loose cause wide shoes would look good paired with skinny jeans :)

Betty asks…

i just got pointe shoes!?

i just got pointe shoes! i wont be on them till after winter break... but i got capezio pointe shoes and these jell pads.. is capezio good? and can you guys give me some good tips to break into pointe shoes? when i got fitted the lady told me to go en pointe so i can feel them and they felt really hard to break in.. i always see the beginners(like just started a year ago) they cant break into their shoes but the older girls can (and very easily) thanks for the help!

Our pick of the answers:

Again, I'm talking to my friend about your question. Capezio shoes are a good shoe but they are for wider feet and have softer shanks. The most important thing about pointe shoes is not the brand but whether they fit your foot well. My friend uses Bloch because they fit her feet the best even though they look blocky. To break in your pointe shoes before you even put them on gently bend the shank back and forth with your hands, then roll up through demi-pointe to full-point and back down several time. Walk around on demi-pointe as much as you can. Do lots of echappes in them. She says the reason it is hard to break in pointe shoes as a beginner is that you haven't built the extremely strong foot muscles required to be on your toes alot. The more exper ienced girls have muscles that quickly force the shoes to give.
