Kalsi Engineering Attends the Global Petroleum Show

Houston, TX (PRWEB) July 15, 2014

Prominent engineering technology consulting company, Kalsi Engineering, Inc., recently attended the 2014 edition of the Global Petroleum Show, which took place between June 10 and June 12 at the Stampede Park in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Kalsi Engineering was among the exhibiting companies, with two booths dedicated to its products.

One booth displayed the company's award-winning Kalsi Thrust Bearings brand. It supports heavy thrust loads on a lubricant film due to its design as an impact-resistant one-piece thrust bearing element with geometry-induced hydrodynamic lubrication. It is commonly used for downhole oil well drilling applications, which include turbines, mud motors, and roller cone bits. The brand won the Woelfel Distinguished Innovation Award at the 2006 Offshore Technology Conference, which was held in nearby Houston.

The other booth displayed the company's Kalsi Seals brand. A line-up of one-piece patented rotary seals, they were initially developed to withstand the brutally harsh oilfield downhole drilling environment. However, the nature of their manufacture enables use for severe service conditions in any industrial setting. Kalsi Seals accommodate high differential pressure and provide hydrodynamic lubrication to keep seal and shaft wear to a minimum. They can be used in both low and high pressure installations, which include mud motors, oilfield cement and submerged dredge pumps, construction and hydraulic swivels, rotary valve actuators, and underwater vehicles.

The Global Petroleum Show is one of the world's largest industry trade events. There were over 65,000 registered attendees this year, with participants from about 100 countries that included China, Brazil, India, Argentina, and Peru. A little over 2,000 companies had exhibits, with expectations that they will generate about $ 8.9 billion in business transactions. About $ 4.2 billion of that revenue is expected to come from exhibiting companies based in Alberta. The conference is also expected to contribute about $ 70 million to the economy of the province.
