Your Questions About Womens Fashion Shoes

Maria asks…

What shoes to wear with over-the-knee socks?

I LOVE the newest styles of the over the knee and thigh-high socks, but I can't figure out what shoes to wear with them. I've been wearing boots, but it seems "too much" on the leg, ya know? I don't think they look good with tennis shoes either because I'm usually dressed up more than just tennis shoes can handle. (I like to wear my long socks with my short denim skirts). What do YOU wear with your longest socks? What do you think looks best? Thank you for helping me with my fashion quandaries!!

Our pick of the answers:

I love high socks, I think they're so fun/comfy. I usually wear them with boots, or for a more preppy look, flats. I also like them with high-heeled booties, or with a mini-skirt. Laura asks…

Does anyone know of any black shoe designers?

I need it for a research assignment on african americans in the fashion industry. They don't necessarily need to have their own shoe line, but as long as they are head designer of an already established brand that would be great also! Thanks!

Our pick of the answers:

Kimora Lee Simmons is half African-American; she's the one behind Baby Phat shoes (go to http://www.solestruck.com/baby-phat-womens-shoes/ and click on "about baby phat" on the right) There's also Vanessa and Angela Simmons, who are the ones behind Pastry shoes (http://blog.solestruck.com/?p=47)
