Lisa asks…
Why do some conservatives say they want a small government?
When they want the government to legislate a woman's uterus and gay people's marriages? That doesn't seem like a small government to me. That allows the government to intrude into people lives unnecessarily. I am not assuming anything, I said some conservatives, not all.
Our pick of the answers:
Some actually might. Most of them just use it as a platform while taking our taxes, blowing them on excessive defense budgets, creating endless bureaucracies supposedly supporting their defense budget and small government, forcing their right-wing agenda down our throats via legislation, and forgetting anything and everything else that matters to America. Like, say, privacy. The GOP calls itself conservative, but it hasn't been small government in decades.
Lizzie asks…
Should the Republican Party split in two so it makes the racist faction easier to identify?
The Moderate GOP is on the Fast Track to making a huge comeback...they are purging Tea Party Conservatives rather quickly and already are acting like Liberals when it comes to Immigration policy. They WILL pander to Latinos and Blacks, and Women, in a big way over the next four years. They WILL offer up gifts, and they WILL make compromises on abortion and birth control AND Planned Parenthood. I would not be surprised if they decide to fund PP instead of trying to destroy it from here on out. It's bad politics attacking women's access to ALL health care. It's proven to produce LOSERS at the polls. And enough with the games and intentional blurring of the lines you Tea Party Conservatives...step out from behind the curtain and reveal yourselves fully...you are the White Party. You are the White Fanatical Christian Fundamentalist Party. You are the Conservatives who are committed to preserving the White Majority and the power structure that goes with it. You are the people who think America is a white MAN's country to be ruled over by white MEN holding bibles in their righteous hands. You are the "Bring Back the 1950's America" people. So when the move to the CENTER really gets rolling in the next year and it is fully clear that the past will remain the past and the future is (I know it's scary but true) uncertain...would you guys try to just build on the Tea Party theme and make the break from the soon to be pandering to Latinos GOP?
Our pick of the answers:
It's going to be hard for the Republican party to break away from its extreme right constituents when the Republican party has embraced with open arms the tea party's platform. Republican party, I fear, IS the tea party now. This is why I can never vote republican. That would be treason against america.
