Lizzie asks…

Do we REALLY need basketball shoes to play in indoor court?

There's a new indoor basketball court built at the new indoor sports complex. the problem is, the management strictly asks for non-marking shoes only if we want to play there. They used to allow badminton/volley non-marking shoes but now they changed the rules saying ONLY basketball shoes are allowed. The stupid excuse they give is that, the basketball floors have extra coating compared to the badminton court so in order to 'preserve' the quality, we need to wear basketball shoes. could someone explain to me if there's any rational behind that given reason or they just wanna restrict the players that come to play there? Basketball shoes are expensive and most of us are still students.

Our pick of the answers:

1. I'm pretty sure they can't FORCE you. 2. You don't like it, well you going to have to live with it. 3. The basketball shoes are for a basketball court. 4. It's good for sports 5. They support your ankle and are much more comfortable why wouldn't you buy them? You can't go and buy 45-60 dollar shoes? Some even 30??? They obviously did not say specific basketball shoes.. So get a cheaper pair.
