Mary asks…
How to get over the fear of stepping on the basketball court?
I want to play basketball but afraid of stepping on the court in front of many people who are all critics. Making a fool of myself is on the front of my mind, how to get out of that fear? And also if a team wears Nike socks/shoes do I have to wear them( I like Adidas, but I'll wear them if necessary)?
Our pick of the answers:
Just practice as hard as you can and once you step on the court you have so much fun you forget about ever thing else around you
Helen asks…
What kind of shoes should I get for volleyball?
Prefferably Nikes. Any links or specific ones that would be good?
Our pick of the answers:
I really recommend Mizuno Volleyball shoes. They have great technology and are by far the most advanced shoes. They have a curved toe for high jumps and they have thickened soles for lasting quality and protection. These tend to be a little more costly, but there quality is amazing. You see most of the medaling Olympians sporting Mizuno (Japan, S. Korea, China, USA, Brazil..). I do NOT suggest asics, these do fall apart very quickly. The lining and covering of the shoe is very cheap and bad quality. Nike shoes are coming a long way in their volleyball shoes. They make a multi court shoe like these: http://www.eastbay.com/product/model:158932/sku:54366001/nike-multicourt-10-womens/black/grey/?cm=searchwomensvolleyballshoes But they are a multi court and not specifically for volleyball. They run a little heavy. THey also have these, but I have never owned a pair: http://www.eastbay.com/product/model:177113/sku:42249001/nike-air-extreme-volley-womens/black/silver/?cm=searchwomensvolleyballshoes Here are some mizuno ones to look at. I recommend: Lightining RX, Bolt, 7s and the Rally 2s. Http://www.eastbay.com/Womens/Mizuno/Volleyball/Shoes/_-_/N-1qZy8Z1e2Zne?cm_REF=Mizuno Hope this helps!
