What shoes to wear with this dress?

how to work out my dress size?

I am going to a party next Friday, and its a fancy dress party, so I am going dressed as a woman. I have found a dress I like, but don't know my size. How would I convert my size to ladies clothes? I have a 30 inch waist I am thin. I wear medium shirts in men size, and my inside leg is 32. Are there any experts on clothes that could maybe offer some advice please? I wish I had chosen to go as Robin now hehe...

Plus sizes aren't always consistent across different party lines. You don't say how tall you are and that's a factor in dress size as well. But based on your waist and inside leg, you're probably fairly tall, maybe like 5'9" or 5'10". So I don't see you as a petite or a junior, so you're best bet is probably a Misses dress. Given your waist, I would say you're probably either a 12 or 14 in a Misses size (US). That would either be a 14 or 16 in the UK (see the charts below). But like I said, sizes can vary. You may not be able to try them on in the store (either they won't let you or you don't want to), but if you find a few cute dresses, take them home and try them on first. You can always return them.
