What's the difference between mens, womans, and youth sizes for shoes?

buying shoes online and i don't get the size chart

I wear a 8.5 in Nike women shoes and I wear a 7 in youth girls shoes there is a 1.5 to 2 size different from women sizes to men sizes(men sizes are smaller) also there is a difference on how they fit too the womens shoe is designed for a womens foot and a mens for a guys foot

What does B mean at the end of a shoe size for women?

I am getting these shoes online (6B) but I've never seen B before at the end of a shoe size. They have a sizing chart available, but it doesn't help. It doesn't explain the B. I was told B meant normal, medium, or narrow but I'm not sure.
