Our pick of the answers:
I'm not sure if you need professional shoes, or dressy type ones. WalMart has some pretty cheap & functional black dress shoes for women. They come in flats and pumps, but like I said - they're dressy. You can also get some plain black flats there if that's more what you needed. They have black sneakers there, too. Http://www.walmart.com/catalog/catalog.gsp?cat=163925 I also know that Famous Footwear is having a sale now, and they have loads of shoes there, obviously. :) They have all different brands and styles, and an entire section that's for women's dress shoes. Http://www.famousfootwear.com/ If you were looking for sportier shoes, or tennis shoes, slip-ons, anything casual, Journeys has a pretty big selection of shoes. Vans are great, and they have a solid black version at Journeys :) http://www.journeys.com/index.aspx? As a last resort, Ross is always a good place to look if you have a bigger outlet near you. Their shoe section is pretty big at even the smallest stores, but they don't get very professional. I couldn't find a link for this one, but I'm sure you've seen a Ross around somewhere :) Good luck!

Nancy asks…
I'm a crossdresser (M-F) and I want to go out dressed up for the first time. What should I wear?
I'll probably just go to the mall or to a movie or something...

Our pick of the answers:
It should be something not too flashy, so you can get comfortable going out in an outfit designed for a woman. Avoid any tops that are meant to show cleavage- I always think crossdressers look nice in tops that are sleeveless yet still don't reveal too much chest. Also, I would go for a knee-length, sort of flowy skirt, like those tiered prairie skirts. Stick with flats unless you really want to wear high-heeled shoes, and if you do decide to go for heels, wear some nice wedge-heeled sandals, not those godawful pumps that just scream "drag queen!" I'm glad you asked- I always think the biggest mistake men make when they wear women's clothing is by dressing too outlandishly flashy, with sequins and stiletto heels just to go to the mall. Have fun with your style!!
