Are silver shoes/heels tacky?

I got a pair of nine west silver heels for $15(!!!!great deal!!!!) and i was hoping to use them for prom/homecoming etc since silver goes with everything. but then after i got home, i realized that it might be kinda tacky. these are the shoes http://69.84.153.38/l/Nine-West-Champagne-Silver.jpg

HELP ME: SHOES WIDTH!!?

i need serious help on finding the width of my shoe! im shopping for shoes online at nine west. and i dont know if i am a W (wide), N (narrow), or M (??). i am a size 8 tho. and i just want to know the different between narrow and wide. r they like opposites???
