Sandra asks…
How do I convincingly ask my mum for a pair of Converse/Chuck Taylor's?
Yesterday, we walked past a shoe shop with sales on all shoe brands! I tipped off my mum by saying that I want a pair of sneakers for Xmas and she just chuckled to herself. I laughed along nervously hoping that she was just joking as to that she wasn't going to buy me a pair. As it seemed, she wasn't joking! Thanks for your answers, Chipslover. :) Xx

You might point out that you need to put something on your feet. As shoes go, Chuck Taylor's really aren't all that expensive. Going to guess that you're in the UK, so I posted a price link from there. Good luck!

Mary asks…
What dress was Buffy Summers wearing on the last episode of season 1?
I am looking to find an exact, or ALMOST exact identical dress as the one Buffy Summers was wearing on the very last episode of season 1. If I can buy it online, that would be great. Name of designer would be helpful too. I am also looking for the shoes she wore as well. Any shoes that look exactly like it or close enough? Must be same color too. If anyone knows, please let me know. -Thanks!

All I know is that the designer's name was Cynthia Bergstrom. I'm guessing that the particular dress Sarah wore was made only for the show, and there probably weren't any others made like it officially. However, I do have an idea for you, if you can't find exactly what you're looking for: You can watch the show again and find a dress that is similar. If you find a nearby store that does professional dress alterations, you may end up with something very close to what you want. It could be costly, but I have not found anything like it for sale online. If you do decide to do it this way, take these pictures with you when you go shopping, and make copies as a guide for the alterations. You should always look for the cheapest (not chintzy) dress you can find to start with if you're going to alter it. Only as a last resort do you spend more money on the dress than alterations, because alterations themselves can be fairly pricey. However, if you have a hard time finding a WHITE prom dress, your best bet may be to find a wedding dress with what is called an "empire cut", which tends to stay tight from the shoulders until just under your bust, like in this picture: http://shinymedia.blogs.com/photos/uncategorized/2007/03/27/carmen_marc.jpg You want to keep in mind though that an empire cut is not flattering on everyone. For many people, this kind of dress will make them look pregnant or overweight even when they aren't. Be sure to test the style out before buying something online, to be sure that it's the right look for you. I'm sorry that I can't be of any more help on this. It sucks when we see something on tv and can't find it ANYWHERE. Hope I helped anyway. =) P.S. I don't know if you are, but if you're into Buffy quite a bit and are looking for more stuff from the show, a good place to check out is http://pub36.bravenet.com/faq/show.php?catid=42&usernum=3034282867 It has a LOT of cool resources to use.
