Betty asks…
What to wear student teaching in elementary schools?
Im short, and have a slim frame, but I do have a larger top half. What to wear that is not revealing, tight or improper? I want business casual I guess on a budget. I dont know where to shop, or what to buy that wont make look too old.

Our pick of the answers:
Black pants are always a good bet. Khaki pants too. I tend to wear bright funky colored tops, if they are low cut at all I'll always wear a spaghetti strap shirt or tank top underneath. I'm a pretty casual dresser so I don't usually wear skirts too often. I usually buy flats from Kohl's, or sometimes I get suckered in to the Buckle with their cute shoes they display at the entrance to their store. Get a black pair of shoes, and a pair that you can wear with khakis. Also get a pair of dressy sandals you can wear instead of flip flops. Our school has become pretty lax, so a good solid pair of jeans is usually acceptable. No holey super trendy ones. And we have a ton of school t-shirts, so see if you can get a school t-shirt too. I would recommend making your goal to only wear jeans on Fridays. It's so easy to get into a jeans routine. JC Penney always has good sales on clothes right before school starts, and you can always get discount coupons. Every time you shop at JC Penney there is a survey on your receipt. It takes about 2 minutes to take the survey and you get %15 off your next purchase. You can also sign up for mobile coupons too. I also like to shop at Maurice's, and sometimes Kohl's for my work clothes. We don't have a Macy's near where I live but I've been there on vacation a time or two and if you look hard enough they have some pretty good deals. Hope that helps! Good Luck! :D

Sharon asks…
What do you suggest for cute shoes that you can comfortably walk in?
I am going on a trip to Chicago. I will be doing a whole lot of walking, and need to be comfortable. But I want to look cute and stylish.

Our pick of the answers:
Basically it all depends on your style. I'd go for Vans, Nike and Reebok. All you need is something which is comfortable and doesn't look odd, which is not a hard expectation from today's walking shoes. I guess you could check your local shoes store or go to Macy's if you have one around. They have pretty good range of shoes and usually there is a sale going on. Good luck and have a nice trip to Chicago!
