From a professional womans perspective???
I am a guy who just moved to Des Moines, IA. In the past I have been around college girls. Now it seems that most girls I run into or meet are young professionals. I am pretty good about keeping my clothing and shoes up to date and in style. What are good casual clothes that professional women like to see men in? Button up dress shirts with jeans and nice shoes? If button up, what kind? Buckle style with embroydery, striped, solid? Unique and interesting tee shirts? What kind of shoes? Square toed black dress shoes with jeans? brown steve madden shoes? shiny or the tennis shoe kind? What kind a jeans? Dark with nice dye in them (stonewash)? What about watches? Silver watch or leather band (fossil style)? Just lookin for some pointers. I would appreciate anyones help. I am not under the impression that fassion only gets girls...personality is much more important, but I do know that if you have style it doesn't hurt.
Our pick of the answers:
Depends on the situation. Scenario 1: Walking around in a Mall - You may want to wear jeans (dark or cool [new] stonewash)and a cool t-shirt and some sneakers. Just as long as the t-shirt is clean. Scenario 2: Going out for drinks at a nice place - You can still do jeans but you have to wear a nice button down. Vertical stripes look nice and in the winter a button down under a soft sweater looks nice also. - You would probably wear some kind of non-sneaker or non-flipflop type of shoe. Nice square toe black dress shoes can go with this or the brown steve maddens. - You may also want to wear a pair of khakis. - A blazer with the jeans style is kinda funky. Those stretchy Polo looking shirts are always nice with jeans and khakis. I like the way watches look big on a guy. I personally like a silver watch. Doesn't matter what style. Leather bands seem to get cracked and break so they don't seem as practical to me. Just think what the situation calls for. Walking around running errands may be a more casual t-shirt and jeans type of day. Going to a football game once again t-shirt and jeans. Going to a movie button down and jeans if it's at night. Going to a movie during the day cool t-shirt and jeans and sneakers. Personality is a big thing though. The most physically attractive guy in the room isn't as appealing if he has no personality to back himself up. Confidence is key. If you are comfortable and confident then women like this. But don't get too cocky. Women don't like a guy who's self-absorbed. If you see that woman heading towards the door, go open it for her. If you see a woman, drop something on the floor, help her pick it up. It's nice for a man to be a gentleman sometimes. Just because we may be a feminist doesn't mean we don't like a man to do stuff for us sometimes. Good luck out there!

A nice button down shirt layered over a T-shirt (clean, non wrinkled, somewhat fitted) with jeans is always a nice look. If you aren't really good with color, stick to T's and button downs that are blue or white background, then you can pair them with any shade of jeans. With the jeans, the shade doesn't really matter, but if you're a bigger guy, if you will want to go darker because it will make you look slimmer. DON'T do black jeans, they always fade out wierd. Also, carpenter jeans and anything pleated is bbbbbbbbaaaaaaaaaaaddddddd! With T's just don't do anything that has a smartass phrase, because some people don't have much of a sense of humor.....
