Your Questions About Commandant Of The Marine Corps

Susan asks…

What is the clause that separates the US Marine Corp from the NAvy?

Rumor has it that The Marine Corp has been separated from the Navy since 1984. THe policies and traditions of the Marine Corps come from the NAvy but The commandant of the Marine Corps has its own chair in the joint chief of staff meetings. Their anual budget is aprooved by the NAvy or is it independent? How does that work?

Our pick of the answers:

The U.S. Marines are still under the Department of the Navy. It has never been a seperate department since it's inception.

Mary asks…

Several questions about the Marine Corps History(trivia questions)?

1. How long was John Basilone on Iwo Jima before he was KIA?Was he there to see the famous flag raising on MT Suribachi(sp)? 2. Who was the first CMC(Commandant of the Marine Corps) to be dishonorably discharged? when and why? 3.Who was the CMC who officially declared 10 NOV 1775 the Marine Corps Birthday? and what year did he declare this? 4. Who was the first woman Marine Officer? I am not a Marine, but my brother is and is currantly deployed, I only know the answers to numbers 2 and 3. The other 2 questions I am asking to seek the answers. Thank you

Our pick of the answers:

1. "Manila John" Basilone was on Iwo Jima for only 90 minutes before he was killed in a mortar attack. He did not see the flag raised on Mt. Surabachi. 2. I cannot find any reference to a CMC being dishonorably discharged. A search of "commandant +dishonorable" brought up nothing about the Marines. Would be interested to see if that has happened, though. 3. On 1 November 1921, General John A. Lejeune issued Marine Corps Order No. 47, Series 1921. The order summarized the history, mission, and tradition of the Corps, and directed that it be read to every command on 10 November each subsequent year in honor of the birthday of the Marine Corps. This order has been duly carried out. 4. Samuel Nicholas became the first Marine officer in 1775, Opha Mae Johnson became the first female Marine in 1918 and Carol A. Mutter became the first female major general in 1994. Hope this helps! :-)

Your Questions About Fox News

Ruth asks…

Is 20th Century Fox financing of the movie Avatar proof that Fox News is just a front for a liberal conspira?

Avatar is clearly Left Wing propaganda and yet it was financed by the same people who own Fox News. Was Fox News set up by Fox to make the Republican movement look like idiots?

Our pick of the answers:

Fox News is really Rupert Murdoch's political perspectives disguised as news and Rupert hates all Democrats. He has lots of money and this is how he spends it. His media network in Asia also must agree with his opinions.

Lizzie asks…

How is Fox news channel 1st in the ratings?

According to the polls, avery small percentage of Americans identify themselves as Republicans, much less as "right wingers". So how can it be that Fox News leads in the TV ratings?

Our pick of the answers:

Fox News is the only channel for right wing republicans, whereas liberals tune into many different cable news channels, MSNBC, CNN, etc. So lets say you'v e got 25 republicans and 75 liberals. Those 25 all watch Fox. But 20 liberals watch MSNBC, 20 watch CNN, 20 watch CNBC, and 15 watch PBS. Who wins? Fox. While the other stations divide up a large group, FOX brings one smaller group together in one place. Make sense?

Your Questions About Comandante

Jenny asks…

PLEASE Translate. This is very important to one of the men was a friend of mine. 10 pt first person. PART 1?

Las historias de los Zetas This is the first part look for part two of this. I will give 10 points for each one answered. I know it is a lot, but it is very important to me.

Our pick of the answers:

Here is a translation of that passage for you... "The 26 bodies found murdered in the streets of the region and in "narcofosas" (mass graves) were killed in cold blood by a group led by Alejandro Valdez Gutiérrez, alias "El Comandante Pelón". Most of those people were related to drug dealing, and there was an ex-policeman. However, there were also innocent people, like the restaurant worker, Roberto Luévano Domínguez and the daughter of a drug dealer who had been kidnapped 20 days before being executed by the Zetas. However, there is someone whose life was saved. She was Irene García May, daughter of a co-op member in the municipality of Lázaro Cárdenas, and whose body was found in a "narcofosa" in a deep natural well in Villas Otoch. She was the only victim left alive from the recent abductions and uprisings by Alejandro Valdez Gutiérrez's groups (alias "El Comandante Pelón") and who is currently imprisoned at the local jail. In fact, his arrest gave rise to the Zeta group, dedicated to executions and kidnappings. Deciding to end the lives of all those who were still held prisoner in the different safe houses that the cell had in different parts of the city. From the capture of "Comandante Pelón" onwards, a terrifying reality has been uncovered in Cancún, where murders, executions and violent crimes have begun to take on a life of their own in a place where the calm, peace and tranquility have considerably dissipated. This is why the arrested Zetas' statements are a series of stories that can make you shudder, as they are all related to uprisings, kidnappings and killings."

Sandy asks…

Your Questions About Fifty Shades Of Grey

Mary asks…

Has anyone read the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy? What do you think?

I finished reading Fifty Shades Freed today and I have been addicted since I started reading the trilogy 2 days ago. I just wanted to see what everyone else thinks of it. Why they like it? Why they don't like it? I cannot wait for more!

Our pick of the answers:

I skim-read the first book and I really didn't like it. For one thing, it was originally written as a Twilight fanfiction- I'm amazed at the fact that she just changed the names from Edward and Bella and could publish it as a novel. (I can see other characters, like Jacob, from the Twilight series as well, and that was badly written enough.) For another, for an 'empowering' novel Anastasia is a useless character. The dialogue is cringeworthy, and I really don't get why Christian tries to control her so much (sending her a list of foods she can eat?!), let alone why he likes her in the first place. Having said that, when I first read the Twilight series I liked them, I suppose because they're easy to read and I hadn't really read any romance novels before (although I read them when I was eleven or twelve.)

Betty asks…

Who have read the book Fifty Shades of Grey?

Who do you all think should play Christian Grey in the movie? They are thinking of making a movie out of it (I don't know how though) but who did you have in mind when you were reading the book?

Our pick of the answers:

Ryan Gosling! He's very good at being dark and he can also play the good, romantic parts. But Ian Somerhalder (Vampire Diaries) has asked to play the part, he'd be good too but I can't picture him playing the romantic parts.

How to save your Firefox bookmarks on your computer?

I'm having some problems with Firefox, so I want to uninstall it and then reinstall it. But I want to save all my bookmarks, so can I save my bookmarks to my computer, and then import them back to Firefox once I reinstall it? Thanks for the help.

Our pick of the answers:

Don't worry about saving them. Unless you delete Firefox's data directory, they'll be there when you reinstall. If you still want to save them, they're at: In Windows XP: c:Documents and Settingsyour usernameApplication DataMozillaFirefoxProfilesyour profile number.defaultbookmarks.html In Windows Vista: c:Usersyour usernameApplication DataMozillaFirefoxProfilesyour profile number.defaultbookmarks.html Come to think of it, reinstalling Firefox from the ground up might give you a different profile number, so knowing where the bookmarks file is is a good idea. Your Questions About Commandant Of Auschwitz

Nancy asks…

Do people who ask stereotypical questions about Jewish people have any idea the impact these questions have?

How about hopping on your time machine to Auschwitz, 1942 and be a concentration camp guard, leading Jews to the gas chambers. You could join the SS and be a part of the horror and torture Jews endured. Or tear infants from their mothers arms and throw them against a wall and watch their heads get bashed. Perhaps you can work in the medical ward where they performed medical experiments on human beings. A Jewish mother gives birth in Auschwitz. Her nipples are taped shut so as not to produce milk. Then her baby is laid down next to her. The Commandant wants to see how long it will take the baby to die without food and love. So the mother lays there, listening to her baby cry. Her hands are tied and she can't do anything, but feel her broken heart and indescribable pain. This actually happened. I read it in a book. The baby cries for almost 2 days. The mother is forced to hear it. The third day the cries gets weaker and weaker and then the crying stops. The baby she just gave birth to has died, so the Commandant now know it takes 3 days for a baby to die after birth without food, love, being held and so on. The perfect movie for you to watch is called the Grey Zone. About the life of the Jewish men who worked in the Gas Chambers. I guarantee, you'll NEVER ask an antisemitic question again, or think you're being cute, or funny. And you call yourselves Christians. I'm sure the Lord couldn't be more proud of you than he is right now. You'll face your creator some day. It's he you'll have to answe to, not I. Karema: Your family wasn't an entire race of people. Who exactly are the Jews killing as you stated? They've been fighting for their survival for eternity. I guess you truly don't understand, or just don't want to.

Our pick of the answers:

I just read the first five posters to this question and I'm sickened to the core by my fellow man. This world has become so hard hearted and cruel that they cannot feel empathy for their fellow man any more. And these heartless fiends can't imagine why a loving God would send them to hell?

Sharon asks…

Can anyone help me proofread my Social Studies paper. I have no one the help me?

The holocaust began in 1933 with the rise of Nazi political power in Germany with Adolf Hitler as their leader. Adolf's cruel goals were to eliminate anyone who practices the Jewish faith and minor groups such as people with mental conditions and disabilities off the face of the Earth.. He also wanted to take over all of Europe and then later the world. He first went the mental patients from hospitals, then those with physical "defects," gypsies, and then Jews. Hitler and the Nazi party believed the perfect person was someone with blonde hair, blue eyes, and of Aryan decent. Any others were considered inferior. These horrible beliefs led to 11 million people dying, six million of them were Jewish. Through these inhumanities of the holocaust people still were heroic and gave hope to others. An example of that is when "Individuals in every European country and from all religious backgrounds risked their lives to help Jews" (Rescue- Holocaust Memorial Museum-http://www.ushmm.org/wlc/article.php?land=en&ModuleId=10005185) In The Cage by Ruth Minsky Sender there were many inhuman acts against the Jewish faith but out of it there were many heroic acts. The Cage is about a girl, Riva, and her family living in the ghetto of Lodz, Poland and then later in Auschwitz Death Camp. Once at the camp the main character, Riva, loses the rest of her family but does not lose the will to live. The Nazi soldiers display their authority in many cruel and horrific ways. In the story there were two sisters who were caught in the camp stealing scraps from the garbage. Inhumanity shows itself when the commandant makes one sister whip the other as punishment. "Faige picks the whip up from the ground and lowers in on Chanele's back, slowly and softly. 'Chanele please forgive me'" (Sender 190). This shows how inhuman people will get by making people do one of the hardest things to do, hurt a loved one. Makin g Faige whip her sister was torture and made her go insane. Despite these cruel actions there were many examples of heroism. Before going to the concentration camp Riva wrote poetry. In camp she longed for a pencil to write with. A girl, Rosa risked her life to get her one. Riva was ecstatic when receiving the pencil. "My heart is full of joy, their insults cannot touch me. I have a pencil! I want to shout for only raise the hope in Riva, it raised the hope in all of the girls her barracks. All the girls loved Riva's poetry and found hope in her readings. Although victims of the Holocaust like Riva experienced great pain, their hope and determination to survive them alive. In the book Maus by Art Spiegleman there were many instances of heroism and inhumanity. This novel is about the father of the writer's experience of the holocaust in Auschwitz. Vladek (writer's father) was assigned to take apart gas chambers. One of the workers tells him the inhumanity that he sees. "We pulled the bodies with hooks. Big piles, with the strongest on top, older ones and babies crushed below… often their skulls were smashed. Their fingers were broken from trying to climb up the walls… and sometimes their arms were as long as their bodies, pulled from the sockets" (Speigleman 71). This shows how horrible and violent the Nazis were using zyclon B. Although there was much pain that the Nazis caused, there were also many moments of heroism. Throughout the story Vladek is searching to find his wife, Anja. When he finds her he finds that she is very malnou rished. He then risks his life to give her any extra food he had to help keep her alive. If caught he could be beaten or killed. He then was seen by a guard and must lie that he didn't know her. It didn't work but he only got beaten not killed. "A stranger asked if I know her brothers in Auschwitz. I didn't know anything so I hardly answered" (Speigleman 57). This made Vladek a hero because he risked his life for someone her cared about that he knew needed help. Vladek was able to show out of all the inhuman actions of the Nazi that there could still be signs of heroism. While watching the documentary Death Camp at Auschwitz by Harpo Productions the speaker Elie Wiesel explains the many cruel acts that he witnessed. He also shows how people can still be brave and heroic even in such a hard time. He goes on to talk about him watching masses of people dying, seeing the horrors that the chemical Zyklon B. He also tells about how the cruel Germans make prisoners burn the dead bodies of other prisoners. Another horrible part of his imprisonment is the "Angles of Death". They are doctors who did horrible and cruel experiments that they usually would do on mice. Having to see and hear all of these horrible events must have been horrible. The Germans did not care what the Jews thought, they were only looked at as animals in their eyes. Even when people lost all hope there were some who still did things to help other people. For example, Elie Wies el helped his father stay alive. He new that his fathe

Our pick of the answers:

I agree -- this is riddled with errors! I don't care if you give ME the points, but don't be fooled by the one who said it was "scholarly". Scholarly it ain't! I'll look at a couple of sentences for you -- but one good trick is to just read the thing out loud to yourself. You'll be surprised at how many of your own errors you'll catch that way. OK ... 'The holocaust began in 1933 with the rise of Nazi political power in Germany with Adolf Hitler as their leader." First, capitalize Holocaust. Second, Hitler was "its" leader, Nazi political power is singular. But better .. The rise of Nazi political power in 1933 under the leadership of Adolp Hitler also led to the beginnings of the Holocaust "Adolf's cruel goals were to eliminate anyone who practices the Jewish faith and minor groups such as people with mental conditions and disabilities off the face of the Earth.." First, use the last name, not the first. However a bigger problem is -- it's not right! In the beginning (before the Final Solution was developed at the Wansee Conference) Hitler's goal was to just remove Jews from German life -- and Germany. Also, it's a very awkward sentence and "minor groups" is unnecessary and patronizing. "He also wanted to take over all of Europe and then later the world. He first went the mental patients from hospitals, then those with physical "defects," gypsies, and then Jews." Again .. It's wrong.

Your Questions About Fifty Shades Of Grey

Lisa asks…

What do you think of the book/s 'Fifty Shades of grey/darker/freed...?

Just wondering what people's opinions are on these books, everyone is talking about Fifty Shades of Grey and the other books in the set, so i was considering reading them. What do you all think of these books?

Our pick of the answers:

Raunchy yet mercilessly enticing... The first book was good, i mean it started off good and promising but then it started oozing twilight lik e the events and story-line just keep reminding you of twilight. Also its very repetitive and sometimes cheesy. Its like an age-restricted version of twilight which is kind of disappointing on the one hand but on the other, once you start reading it, and especially if you're a sucker for romance like me:( you wont be able to stop until you finish all 3 (so be warned). In the end, I think its actually a good plot if you can get past the painful repetitiveness.

Ruth asks…

Will there be Fifty Shades of grey Book 4?

Will there be Fifty Shades of grey Book 4. Someone said there is going to be one more boom is it true.

Our pick of the answers:

I don't think so, I thought the author wanted it to be a trilogy. Though not a big fan (*coughcough* I hate it*coughcough*) but if she did, then it would be more likely with different characters as Christian and Ana are already married and had kids. Probably in a different setting or with one of their children, who knows?

Your Questions About Commandant Of Auschwitz

Betty asks…

Do you think this is a good summary for my book?

my book is called "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" by: John Boyne tell me is this is a good summary of if i need to change anything. "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" My book I read over the summer is called "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" by: John Boyne. It's about the Holocaust and a young boy at the age of nine, and another young boy at the same age as well. The first boy has the name of Bruno who is from Berlin, Germany and if forced to move nearby a concentration camp far from his real home in Berlin. Bruno does not like it there what so ever; it has only three floors when the house back away in Berlin has five, the paint is peeling away on the ceiling and the walls, and there is no one around to play with, to talk to or anything, except next door. Now, Bruno's Dad, "The Commandant", as his soldiers call him, runs the concentration camp next door. It is actually called "Auschwitz Concentration Camp", but Bruno and his older sister who is 12, Gretel, call it "Out-With", because they don't know what or why they are here and had never seen a camp like this before. But when Bruno goes outside to explore, he sees a very small boy, much smaller than he was, sitting on the other side of the fence looking very sad and lonely, and hungry too. All the people on the other side of the fence were all wearing striped pajamas with a striped hat on and patches on their wrists with the Jewish star on it. Auschwitz is the largest of all Nazi Germany's concentration camps of World War II, and from what Bruno saw every day, there were thousands of huts and buildings for the prisoners to stay and work in. The boy that Bruno had met that day had only been nine years old and coincidentally had the exact same birthday as Bruno, April 15th, 1934. He had been in that camp for almost his whole life and was very pale, dirty, and extremely skinny. But as the year went on, they became very great and close friends. They talked about everything. Bruno talked about his home and his life back in Berlin and what is was like to live there. And the boy across the fence whose name was Shmuel, talked about what it was like to live in Poland and his Papa being missing and how he had been in this camp and how sad it was how he was living. So, Bruno had made a deal with Shmuel that he would help him find his Papa. Bruno got his disguise which was the same thing that Shmuel had had on so he could blend in to the rest of the people and wouldn't get recognized. Although they didn't find any evidence that would suggest that Shmuel's Papa might be dead or alive. But when it starts to rain, Bruno decides it is time for him to go home. Then, just as he is leaving the dreadful camp, a soldiers steps in front of him and orders him to go back in to the hut as it was raining. A year had already past, and Bruno was still stuck in Auschwitz. His Mother and Gretel had gone back to Berlin while The Commandant stayed and looked for him. All the possible places he could be except one, the fence. He walked over to the fence and noticed that the bottom wire wasn't quite aligned on the ground with the rest of the fence. But how does he get over the fence? He's too big to go under, and the fence is to high, so how does he get to save his only son?

Our pick of the answers:

Yea i think it sounds just about right. But i think you might not want to include every little detail....i mean it is a summary. Also, you should use Past Tense cuz i mean the story takes in WW2 which was in the past. And did u know that The Boy In Striped Pajamas is a movie too??? OMG! I watched it and it was sooo sad! And it had a completely different ending to it than what you wrote. Its really sad and shocking too. You should definitely see it!

Susan asks…

was the Holocaust a myth?

There is no blue Zyklon-B residue on the walls, which would happen if there was repeated Zyklon-B use. The delousing chambers on the other side of the camp still have the blue residue. The excuse for this is that the residue "weathered away" eventually. However, the resultant compound that the massive cyanide exposure would create is virtually impervious to weather as can be seen by the outside walls of the real delousing faciliti es, and there are also large areas that remain in the alleged gas chambers which are protected from severe weather, yet there is no residue there. If you look inside the gas chamber, you clearly see that the Soviets ripped walls apart in there to make it look like a gas chamber. The "four holes" on the roof, were Zyklon-B was alleged to be poured down were also added after WWII by the Soviets. There are also holes in the floor showing there were once bathrooms in there. http://i40.tinypic.com/6oiefb.jpg This is an outside view of the "homicidal" gas chamber at Auschwitz. It looks just like an air raid shelter (because that is what it is), and it is located directly across the street from the camp commandants office. Would've been funny if the commandant ran into the air raid shelter for cover and was accidentally gassed to death. Haha, the jokes on you commandant! It's a gas chamber! Haha! The big chimney behind it was built after the war to give it that gas chamber look. It isn't attached to the building, it has no function at all other than to give the "gas chamber" an ominous look. It must have been a bitch getting all those dead people out through that little door too, especially maneuvering around the tight entry way. (Source: http://www.scrapbookpages.com/auschwitzscrapbook/Tour/Auschwitz1/A uschwitz08B.html) Here are some more pictures of the alleged "gas chamber" at Auschwitz: http://www.scrapbookpages.com/auschwitzscrapbook/2005Photos/GasChamber Door03.jpg http://www.scrapbookpages.com/auschwitzscrapbook/2005Photos/GasChamber Door05.jpg http://www.scrapbookpages.com/Poland/Auschwitz/Auschwitz26.jpg - entrace door There are glass windows and a wooden door. That's not exactly gas chamber quality if you ask me. Also, why are there no locks in these gas chambers? http://www.scrapbookpages.com/Poland/Auschwitz/Auschwitz27.jpg This is another doorway in the alleged gas chamber - yet there is no door, and even if there was, it leads right to the crematorium. This is very dangerous considering explosive HCN gas is right next door, literally. The Nazis would not have been that dumb. What is it then? Simple: It's an air raid shelter.
