Would it be weird to wear platform heels?
I am only 5'2" but my groom is 6'3". I normally always wear heels at least 2" high. Sometimes up to 4"... So, I was wondering if wearing platform heels would make me look weird? If I got a 6" to 7" tall heel I wouldn't even have to alter the dress, which I am kind of afraid can't be altered anyway without ruining the beautiful multi-length beaded hemline. The David's Bridal folks said it could be done, but I don't believe them. I would still be 5" shorter than my groom, and only average height LOL. What do you all think? LOL, I don't care if they would look like stripper shoes :) I was thinking of getting ones with blue metallic glitter in them. For "something blue." I'm getting married on a cruise ship, not by the Pope, haha. And I mainly am not concerned about height, or being taller. I am just unsure of my solution.
Our pick of the answers:
Your dress length CAN be altered - never fear! The people who do wedding dress alterations are amazing - like wizards! I have previous experience as mother of the bride for two daughters. Both had dresses with decorated hems, and both were shortened beautifully. But if you want platform shoes and feel you can walk gracefully in them, go ahead. It's your special day and you should do whatever you want! Maybe get the shoes far enough in advance that you can practice walking in them. . . My third daughter is getting married next year - colors include red as an accent. She wants to wear red shoes with her white dress. I thought it was weird at first, but her feet won't show anyway, so I told her she should just have fun with it!

How To Walk In Really High Platform Heels?
Basically, I bought myself the boots ive wanted for YEARS but cant walk too well in them. They're platforms, 4 inches, (WHich is nothing) but with about a 6 or 7 inch heel. Any tips for walking in them without having your ankles hurt, or scuffing along the ground? Thanks C: I need a little more than "Practice" and im not getting rid, haha. Im not unsteady on them, but can only slowly. I was just wondering if there was another way to walk instead of going "Heel First" like walking in high heeled shoes - Becuase of the height it makes you walk "Clonky". If that makes sense.
Our pick of the answers:
Watch models on the runway - they sort of go over on the side and then twist onto the sole in one motion
