Your Questions About High Heels High Hopes T Shirt

Laura asks…

how do you like this so far? (added more)?

I remember the day Cass moved onto James Street like it was yesterday. It was a sticky scorturing Saturday afternoon in July. Despite the unbearable heat, I refused to open my bedroom window in an attempt to isolate myself from the obnoxiously loud neighbors. I watched through smudged and dusty glass from across the street as the Friedman's were moving in. My mother had told me they were a family of three from the city, with a daughter the same age as me, Cassidy. I knew my mom was hoping that I would make friends with this unknown stranger; in fact, she made it a point to remind me that it would be so nice of me to show her around the neighborhood. I watched the family get out of their white van one by one. The father was tall and thin, his face entirely covered in a mix of gray and black hair, same as his head. He was wearing worn in blue jeans and a faded red t shirt, and seemed way too old to have a daughter my age. The mother emerged wearing a fitted black tank top and skinny jeans with black leather high heel boots. Her dark eye makeup made her brilliantly green eyes stand out from all the way across the street. She had a black bob with bright sapphire highlights that matched her long fingernails. She was eccentric and artsy, not the type of woman you saw on a suburban street like this. Every once in a while a teenager who was acting out would dress punk for a while, but never someone's mom. She was fascinating, the polar opposite of my mother. My mother was a home maker. She had a roast cooking in the oven and freshly made chocolate chip cookies on the counter at all times. She was meticulous, going around ensuring that our large colonial house was in perfect condition. This woman was going to be her topic of gossip for a long time, I could just tell. Finally, the daughter walked out of the car. She would've been beautiful, but she was snarling in such a way that it set off all of her delicate features. Her eyes were dark brown and inviting, like Hershey's milk chocolate, her skin light ivory. She was wearing faded jeans like her father and a tye dye t shirt. I found myself fingering through my dark brown waves of hair as I enviously peered down at her pin straight dirty brown locks. She crossed her arms across her chest and stomped towards the front door of her new home, slamming it behind her. I couldn't help but wonder about her too, and wished that we could be friends. But I knew a pretty, interesting girl like that would never be friends with me. I was a loser, and I knew it. I didn't know how to talk to kids my age, and I couldn't relate to other girls. actually, i wanted Cass to end up my main characters best friend, not the typical mean girl. i just wanted to potray that she was unhappy about moving to this neighborhood Thanks so much for the feedback! helps a lot

Our pick of the answers:

I'm not saying it's horrible, but it all feels like I've read it before. You need to spend way less time describing everyone's hair, what they're wearing, blah blah blah, because that's not very important and makes for a clumsily-written story. Cass's family reminds me of, I don't know, Massie Block's family or something. Basically, the same family of every rich, popular, mean girl. Yes, I can already tell that she's rich, popular, and mean, and she's gonna bully your main character who just wants to be friends. Cass sounds very Mary Sue-ish. She needs to be a well-rounded, flawed person besides being a stereotypical popular girl. Try this: http://emarketing.radiantscientific.com/automation/89-writing/4626-writing-1001-character-quirks-for-writing-fiction.html To me, your main character is very plain and boring. She reminds me quite a lot of Claire from, again, The Clique. I take it you're going to use a similar plot to that book? One thing I like about it is the way you're *so* descriptive. I'm sick and tired of seeing stories that are like: "Hi,I'm Lauren," she said. "Wassup?" I answered. "Not much." She had brown hair. "That's cool, how was school today?" "Great!" "Okay, see you latr!!!!11" Overall, it's pretty mediocre, but you've got potential. Keep writing, you could be J.K. Rowling one day :). EDIT: To help determine if your character's a Mary-Sue, I recommend http://katfeete.net/writing/marysue.html EDIT: Oh, really? That's a good twist :D. Now you just need to flesh them out, and make her quit complaining about what a loser she is. Also, make sure there's twists and a troubling conflict; happy-go-lucky plots are very annoying. EDIT: BTW, how old are these characters supposed to be? I'm guessing they're 8-14. If they're older than 9, I recommend you tone down Cass's reaction to moving, because I doubt most older kids would throw a tantrum like that. Sorry for being picky DX.

Donna asks…

Everyone liked my outfit today! What do you think?

Everyone liked my outfit today! What do you think? Well I have a somewhat feminine style. I am a guy by the way. Anyways, like two of my friends who are girls and two cashiers I went to check out with said they liked my outfit. I was wearing this girl black jeans I got at Urban Behavior. Very fashionable jeans, they are skinny fit and in mid-ankle they widen up like a wide leg skinny fit. They make my legs look long and decently skinny. I was wearing this high heeled boots that also go to the ankle. They are from the girls section too but seem gender neutral a bit but you can only see a bit of them since the wide part of the pants hide them up. A nice designed purple t-shirt but you can only see some of it since on top of it I was wearing a black fashionable vest I got from Guess. A purple summer scarf, lots of necklaces, designed bracelets and designed rings. What do you guys think? The purple shirt covered my bum too since its fitted and long making the vest stand out more. People said it was a rare outfit but it looked good. I am stylish and fashionable. I can't put a pic since I have none but can this mean that I should be a fashion model? I tried to describe the outfit with as much detail as possible so I hope everyone can picture it well. A lot of girls liked my outfit. I am really pretty and good looking I ain't gay, just metro. People can wear what they want if it looks good.

Your Questions About High Heels Online Canada

Sandy asks…

Where can I get nice ankle boots from online shipped to canada?

I found these ones I'm looking for ones similar, no shorter then 2 inches.. Looking for a really good price so I can get a few pairs, preferably less expensive then these ones. http://www.overstock.com/Clothing-Shoes/Glaze-by-Adi-High-heel-Microsuede-Ankle-Boots/4422103/product.html?AID=10654384&PID=2707744

Donna asks…

I need some high heels for size 3 feet ! any help?

I have very tiny feet (I'm about a size 3 medium width) and I would love to find some really high heel pumps to wear. Most of the stores I've found online don't ship to canada and are designed for older women. Any help is very appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Our pick of the answers:

Ok, I would recommend trying to go to classic pumps. They sell shoes in very hard-to-find sizes, and the gentleman who owns the website is just fabulous. They sell high heels, and I think they are some of the most gorgeous stilettos/spiked heels you can get at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend you check out the site and email them. The person's name is Walt, and I have dealt with him directly, and he is such a nice person! Good luck and check out the site and see what you think. I have a couple pairs of their shoes and totally love them as they are very comfortable for being high heels. Take care and good luck!:) Here is the link: www.classicpumps.com

Your Questions About Platform Heels Without Heel

Lisa asks…

How can I keep strapless platform heels on while dancing?

I take pole fitness classes, and wear platforms. All of the shoes I have now have ankle straps. I would like to buy some without straps, but I am scared they might go flying through the air!

Our pick of the answers:

SWEATY FEET

Sandra asks…

question about platform heels?

Hi basically im 13, i dont wear heels often only for special occasions! Its my great-grandfathers 100th birthday in 2 weeks and i want to wear some nice shoes. Last time i wore heels was about 3 months ago for a meal. I bought the shoes just because they looked nice, and i'll tell you they were not at all practical! Black sequinned heels with a huge bow on the front and the thinnest heel youve ever seen. You can probably imagine what happened, 13 year old walking around Kensington's cobbled streets in 5 inch stilletoes = NOT FUN! So i was thinking about platform heels this time? Im foccusing more on practicality rather than style now! Are platform heels a good way to gain extra height without wearing 6 inch stilletoes? Are they easier to walk in because of the base? What size heel do you recommend i get? I still want height, but dont want to be a giant. Also do you think buying for expencive shoes are worth it? do you believe they are more comfortable? Or are highstreet shoes just as good? Any tips on how to prevent getting aching feet really quickly? certain way to walk, insoles?? thanks xxx

Our pick of the answers:

So many questions haha ok ~platforms are a good way to get height- look for a wedge platform, they will have a larger base... Platforms can still be thin. Ok ~they give you more height with less strain on your feet because the incline of your foot isn't so dramatic. ~as for height, go for what your comfortable with, any heel gives the effect of longer legs. ~brands? Cheaper shoes can be comfortable too, just try them on ~easier to walk in? Yes... Because there isnt a dramatic tippy toe effect on some (i would recommend looking at these types) ~aching feet- soaking them in warmish water... ~certain way to walk- try to even out the weight distribution over the whole shoe, (not just on the heel or just the toes) ~insoles are lifesavers against ouchy feet and blisters. Hope it helps a bit... Basically try them on and walk around for a bit... Pay attention to how much the shoe pushes your foot forwards to make you walk on your toes... The more this happens, the more painful the shoes get as the night goes on. Good luck

where can you get affordable, cheap gold heels?

i need some for a wedding, but I cant find any gold shoes anywhere. They can't be like expensive like less than $40. Any stores or websites? Also not like a nasty gold, but a more casual one.

Your Questions About Womens Fashion Shoes

Carol asks…

How do i begin crossdressing?

I am really interested in crossdressing but havnt the slightest idea going about it. I would appreciate any fashion or beauty tips. im a 20 year old guy . thanks!

Our pick of the answers:

Go to the womens department and start trying stuff on. Or better yet, the thrift store. Since men are shaped different than women you'll probably need to try stuff on. But go ahead and take your measurements to order online if you are not so confident and comfortable in stores. Meanwhile, get a subscription to fashion magazine/ fashion websites/ or check them at the library. Start with a little black dress maybe as it's a wardrobe staple. Accessorize, accessorize, accessorize. Think jewelery and belts and shoes and scarves. Practice walking in heels.

Donna asks…

Where can you find a wedding suit for WOMEN?

I've been trying to look around so long for a good women's suit for a wedding, like Ellen's. My boyfriend and I are getting married and I want a feminine suit, I know I'm going to have it custom made, which is fine, because my best friend agreed to make it for me, since he graduated with a degree in fashion design. Any help? Lesbians???

Speek Launches ?Speek for Business? With Screen Sharing to Make Online Meetings Fast and Easy for Businesses

Speek Launches "Speek for Business" With Screen Sharing to Make Online Meetings Fast and Easy for Businesses

Speek for Business - Screen sharing

Arlington, VA (PRWEB) September 11, 2014

Speek (http://www.speek.com), announces the launch of their new "Speek for Business" product offering. Speek for Business brings the company's disruptive conference calling service directly to corporate customers while expanding Speek's core feature suite to include screen sharing for online meetings and collaboration.

"This is a very exciting product launch for Speek." said Matt Turner, Speek's CTO. "Speek for Business represents a natural progression for our disruptive conference calling solution. I personally welcome the opportunity to help companies evolve beyond dial-ins and PINs for their conference calls, and massive 50 MB installs for their online meetings. We are ecstatic about the opportunity to shepherd in the new generation of businesses collaboration technology."

Speek's announcement comes at the heels of a $ 5.8 million fundraising round in March. The round of funding enabled the company to shift its focus from "freemium" individual business users to closing multi-user corporate accounts. Speek for Business is the product which facilitates this growth upstream.

Some key new features being released as part of the Speek for Business launch are:

Screen sharing Custom URL's for conference calls. Example: company.speek.com/YourName Branded conference calls with custom logo, colors and links to corporate website and social media accounts Data Dashboard for searching conference call data Improved visual interface for conference calls and online meetings

New customers are already flocking to the Speek for Business product. Notable Fortune 500, financial services. management consulting, legal, associations and nonprofit customers have already signed up as part of a soft launch last month.

Speek's initial foray into the conference call market made dial-ins and PINs obsolete by giving users a personal link like speek.com/john to use as their conference bridge. Users share this link in their calendar invites instead of the traditional dial-in and PIN. Their callers simply click the link at the time of the meeting and join from any device, anywhere in the world, with a single click.

Today's announcement expands upon the personal link by offering branded links for entire companies. For example - CompanyName.speek.com/EmployeeName. These branded speek links have the company's logo, color scheme and links to the company website and social media presence. Conference calls and online meetings become a chance to impress clients and to further brand a business or non-profit to the world.

About Speek

Speek is super simple, free and visual conference calling. Use a personal or business link (i.e., speek.com/YourName), instead of a phone number and PIN for conference calls. Nothing to download and no elevator music. See who's joined, who's talking, share files, use call controls and more. Reserve your Speek link at http://www.speek.com.

Your Questions About Court Shoes

Nancy asks…

What kind of shoes should I wear with an almost ankle length black jersey dress?

I'm hosting my husband's 60th. birthday party and will be walking about a lot and dancing when I get the chance. The skirt of the dress is flared. Court shoes will look too frumpy, sandals will look too flimsy, I think. Any bright ideas?

Our pick of the answers:

I think perhaps, plain and simple but brightly coloured, or a good quality pump, or perhaps long and tightly fitted boots? Hope i helped xxx

Ruth asks…

What flat shoes go with a pencil skirt?

I've bought an oxblood pencil skirt which I wear with court shoes or black ballet pups for work but what other flat shoes could I wear it with out of work? Do pencil skirts go with brogues or ankle boots? Would I just look a muppet?

Your Questions About Shoes For Women Over 50

Lizzie asks…

Women, when are the following items appropriate for a man to give to a gf/date/lover?

Im currently doing research on what women enjoy receiving, as gifts, over the timeline of a relationship. So I'm going to post a list of gift ideas (feel free to add to it) and i want your opinions as to when each is appropriate to be given. Here's a list: 1. Silver/gold Jewelry ($50 - $499) 2. Candies/sweets ($1 - $25) 3. Poetry found (written by others) 4. Self written poetry 5. Love letters 6. Paying for dinner (partial or full) 7. Flowers ($5 - $100) 8. Clothing $1- $100 (outermost layers of clothing - shirts/pants/sweaters/shoes) 9. Stuffed animals ($1 - $50) 10. Perfumes ($20 - $100) 11. Diamond/gem jewelry ($500+) 12. lingerie/underwear 13. Makeup 14. Designer Clothing ($100+) 15. Spa package etc. You get the idea. When are they appropiate? when would be too soon? what would you like most? What would it mean to you? etc. All comments are appreciated.

Our pick of the answers:

Nancy asks…

How does a white man get a black woman to lower her barrier and accept an introduction with enthusiasm?

I asked this question before so let me add some detail. Here are some openers I have used that were authentic from the heart comments to women playing slots ibn a casino: "Excuse me, you have the most magnificent hair I have ever seen. May I ask how long it takes for you to get it like that.' Or....."Is that a lucky machine? No? I used to work in a casino, let me show you where they keep the lucky ones.' Or if I have seen someone before playing a machine I will tell her "I cant believe this...I have been here only 3 times in my life and all 3 times you have been here. Is that possible!!!?" Or if I feel like being silly I will say, "you need to talk nicely to the machine. It has feelings like a real person. Maybe it will treat you better if you tell it something sweet." Or at a wal-mart I will ask a woman if she needs help pushing her cart. Answer is always "no thank you." Anyway, I have tried dating services, I dress very cool. I am age 48, have an athletic body and speak very educated. If a woman tells me she is married which seems to happen over 50% of the time, I ask if she has a twin sister for me, and they always, always say no. What can I do to attract a black woman to me. Some of you have said black women dont want to feel like an experiment, but thats not fair. Every white man wanting to date inter-racially has to have his first white on black date. Besides my ex-wife is black anyway. Im just a so-so looking guy. Many people tell me I look like Ray Romano or Jim Valvano the basketball coach. I dress very well and try chatting with women both in casual and also in dress clothes. In fact, Im surprised that although I wear jeans a lot, sometimes at night I wear slacks, you know, dress pants that actually have a seam in it with classy shined shoes and a killer black long sleeve shirt with a nice collar and still....nothing. No interest from any black women. How can I find one to settle down with or at least get a few of them to date me? I know some black women prefer to stay with their own people, but all of them cant be like that. I approach women from 25-50.

Our pick of the answers:

Okay, well first of all dude, there are a lot of people who don't like dating other races. I'm not saying that all people are like that, but a lot are. You're just trying to get with the wrong black girls, ones who either aren't interested in you, or who don't like men with your race. Just keep looking, and you'll find one who is interested. Good luck.

How to Know what size UGG to buy...! HELP!?

OK so I want these uggs: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Brand-New-Box-UGG-Australia-Charcoal-Fringe-Cardy-Boot-Genuine-WOMENS-Size-8-/190629161204?pt=US_Women_s_Shoes&hash=item2c626228f4#ht_1880wt_1139 But I dont know what size to buy them in! Ok so I am a 9.5 in like all shoes....I thot that I was going to be smart and get a 10 in knit ugg boots that were the same body shape as the pic that I linked but different design and they ended up being 1 inch to big and they were so big that my heel wud come out of my boot when i walked. Now I read online that you should get a size lower then ur usual shoe size......So if I am a 9.5 in shoes should I get a 9 or 8? Keep in mind they dont have half sizes.....And I heard they run big and after you wear them they stretch out too....so should I go with a 8 or 9? HELP! Thank you sooooo much!

Our pick of the answers:

I'm a 9.5 too and I always get a 9 in Uggs. They fit perfectly and I don't think that they stretch out over time. Go with the 9, it's better to get the closet to your show size; 8 will be wayyyy too small.

Sandra asks…

Converse Sizing - too big?

Hi, I recently bought a pair of XXHI Converse All-stars (the ones you see in Journeys). This is my second pair of converse, and I am still not sure about the sizing. I normally wear a size 8 (size 39 Euro sizing) sneakers (in Reebok) and flat shoes. I wear a size 7 or 7.5 (size 38) in heels (usually 7 for 3 and 4inch / size 7.5 in lower heels). The converse I bought were size 6 men's, 8 women's. When I lace the shoes on, and with my heel touching the inside heel of the shoe, there is a 1/2 inch gap in front of my big toe. I think it looks funny when I wear these converse because it makes my feet look big. However, in Journeys, I tried on womens' 7 (there are no half sizing) and the shoe fits with no gap in front (if there was one, it would've been less than 1/4 inch. However, the toe guard squishes my toes together so that if I walk too much, the toes will squeeze against each other and it will probably create blisters. Are my size 8's too big? If I had gotten a 7, would the 7's stretch and accommodate my toes well? On a side note, I wore those converse once, for a day, to school, and the interior of the school is all carpeted. I walked maybe 100 meters (110 yards) on cement to and from the school. Now, the rubber bottom has a very thin layer of fuzziness (probably from the carpet). If I were to return the shoes to Journeys would they accept them? Also, would they really notice? Thank you for your help! Thanks for your answers guys, but I heard from some places that canvas shoes would stretch (the canvas, I mean). Does this really happen and would that make the gap in front of my toe even bigger? Thank you for all your help!!!!!

Our pick of the answers:

The eights are the right size: the sevens wouldn't stretch because the toe cap is made out of rubber and the sort of rubber they use for shoes doesn't stretch very well. I rather suspect that converses run large in order to accomodate the toe cap. Converses, when they're new, actually have some sort of cloth layer on most of the sole of the shoe for some reason. This eventually wears off.

Linda asks…

I am going into High School doing marching band, should I stick with it?

I play the trumpet and I just started practices for Marching Band. I have been playing for several years now, and I have basic experience. Its really hard. I get tired quick and them music is hard to memorize so I always have to look at it and not the conductor which gets me messed up when I am marking time. Should I stick with it? I don't want to embarass myself.

Our pick of the answers:

Marching band is hard work, but the rewards you get from it make up for it. Don't worry about embarassing yourself because those upperclassmen were in your shoes not too long ago. I don't know what your marching band does, but I loved being in band. I made so many friends and had so much fun being involved. We were like a big family. I am guessing you might be a freshman, and I was just like you my freshman year. I couldn't stay on the right foot and had a horrible time playing the music and marching all at the same time. I almost quit, but then when another girl did quit, I heard all of the comments the other kids made. It also created a hole in our show, which they never did fill. The next year I decided to try it again, and guess what???? I did an awesome job. In fact, the band director told me I was one of the best marchers he had. We marched in the Kentucky Derby parade and for the very first Colts football game in the Hoosier Dome, what it was called back then. I moved away from that school my junior year, but that other band marched in the Macy's parade and made it to state finals. I actually went on to volunteer for about six years for my alma mater high school. I have even published a book about my marching band memories if you're interested...just email me.
