Carol asks…
Is it appropriate to wear a sport coat and tie to court? Or should I buy a suit?
I have an important court date set for the near future. I am the plaintiff, and I don't own a suit. I have several sport coats. Should I invest in a suit, or is a sport coat and tie appropritate for court.
Our pick of the answers:
To a certain degree, what you wear depends on your lawsuit and your legal strategy. Are you trying to show that you were wronged financially? That someone has put a financial strain upon you? If so, then you don't want to appear too "well-off." Looking somewhat disheveled could convey the message that you can't afford a suit, and that might be an appropriate message to send. You do want to look as nice and clean as possible at all times, because looking like a slob can cause people to not take you seriously, but I don't think it's necessary to purchase a suit for a court hearing if it creates a financial strain and goes against your legal strategy. You may be surprised to find that many people in court do NOT wear suits. Many wear regular street clothes, which I do not recommend! You'll want to appear to the judge that you've made your best attempt at showing your respect for the court. A nice sport coat and tie, with slacks (not jeans) and some nice dark shoes should do the trick. However, If your sport coat has holes in the elbows and your tie has tomato soup on it, then you may want to visit an inexpensive men's store. The key is to look clean and respectful. More importantly though, BE respectful to the judge and be prepared in your case with FACTS and documented evidence!
Jenny asks…
What kind of basketball shoes should I get?
I play basketball, and I need to know what kind of shoes are good. I am tall for my age group (13s). I am mostly an all around player, but spend a lot of my time under the basket. I want a shoes with looks, and around 120$. Also can someone explain what a power player is to me?
Our pick of the answers:
If you have around 120 bucks i would recommend u get kobe zoom iv's as they are lightest shoe in production right now for 119.99. But since it looks like u are a big man, u might want to get a high-top shoes since u won't be doing much cutting around the court. I would reccomend hyperdunks. This is also another light shoe for about $95 dollars. And as for ur other question, u are a power player. Power players use their height and strenght rather than speed and quickness to their advantage. Players who are power players usually play the power forward or center position such as shaq, tim duncan, dwight howard, etc.
