Your Questions About Womens Fashion Shoes Uk

Donna asks…

Casual shoe style recommendations?

I'm a female in high school, and have trouble finding shoes that I like. My closet consists of mainly dark wash skinny jeans, skinny neutral chinos, chiffon and satin blouses, blazers, cardigans and a variety of workout clothes. I need close toed styles that offer all day comfort and not too casual looking because the majority of my wardrobe won't look good with the typical canvas shoes. Even as a active girl, I don't want to be wearing my favorite runners around the clock. I don't really like the styles of Toms, Converse, or Keds, and those make up the majority of flat casual shoes in the market these days. I have yet to find a pair of ankle height casual shoes that I love, I already have a couple pairs of boots, sandals and flats. I am also really into leather or suede shoes. I would be welcome to any suggestion for specific styles, brands, or stores that any of you may know of. I would like to avoid online shopping, so if your recommendations can be found in Canada and in store, I would be especially grateful,

Our pick of the answers:

If you want to get a pair of ankle lenght closed-toe shoes I would suggest oxford flats (to dress down the outfits but still look appropriate) and ankle booties with slim, low or flat heel. These are just example of the styles: Oxfords: http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/img-thing?.out=jpg&size=l&tid=59304977 http://i.ebayimg.com/t/Oxford-Flats-Lace-Up-Handmade-Shoes-248-Black-Size-US-5-9-/00 Dark neutrals looks dressier than the light or pastel ones. Also, oxford flats have masculine retro vibe so I reccomend that you focus on adding feminine and classic details to make less boylish unless you like the tomboy-gone-more-girly which I personally love. I LOVE the look of dress shirt or blouses tucked into a more casual or shorter skirts and a pair of flat oxfords + spiced up with simple jewelry. Its another take of an feminine look. Oxford has a less sporty feel to them than keds/converse which I assume is why you dont like the way keds/converse looks because your type of dressing is more refined than sporty? If you want an dressier alternative and you dont mind walking in little bit of heel, there are oxford pumps and oxford shooties. Choose your own heel preferences, whether its low 1.5" ones or 3" ones. Either is dressier than flat oxfords. There are also wedge ones and they are more likely to be more comfortable. And there are ankle booties. Just wear them as short boots. They might not be the ideal if you work is more proffesional as most boots are casual or too playful for that. There are also ballet flats and loafers if you looking for casual non-ankle lenght leather shoes. But I hope it gave some ideas! Im from Sweden so I cannot help with stores or brands. I personally buy my quality leather shoes from eccoshop.com and vagabond.com. For budget shoes, deichmann.com is great but Im not sure if you can find that store in canada. Deichmann is orginally from UK!
