Ruth asks…
What catwoman costume should I wear for a cosplay?
I'm 13 years old so I don't want anything too, you know showy. I wanna use the newer design, the one with goggles but I only have two months to make the costume and it can't cost too much, what should I do?
Our pick of the answers:
I assume you're referring to the "Batman Hush: Catwoman" design - http://www.dccomics.com/dcdirect/popup_images.php?i=3151 Here is a view of the front and back - http://www.comicbookbin.com/catwoman000.html Here is an inexpensive unitard that looks very similar to the image above - http://cgi.ebay.com/Shiny-Black-Metallic-spandex-catsuit-costume-unitard_W0QQitemZ180369026323QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Womens_Clothing_2?hash=item29fed4ed13&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A1205%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50 As for the belt and boots, try WalMart for chunky boots and the Men's clothing section for a wide belt (you can cut it down to size), or you could make a belt out of fabric and a belt buckle. If the boots you find don't have buckles, you could glue some on those too. Check your local fabric or crafts store (JoAnne's, Michael's and some WalMart stores have a fabric/craft section). Check eBay for chunky (or goth) boots and a belt too. Looks like the belt is made up of a few loops of rope anyway. You could make that yourself (paint it gray or silver). Here is an example of goth chunky boots http://cgi.ebay.com/Splash-Womens-Chunky-Heel-Boots-Goth-shoes-size-6-black_W0QQitemZ220434715770QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Women_Shoes?hash=item3352eed47a&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A15%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A0%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50 Here are some shiny black gloves (they are very long, but you could cut them down) - http://cgi.ebay.com/Lycra-zentai-spandex-metallic-black-long-gloves_W0QQitemZ170344627376QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Womens_Clothing_2?hash=item27a954bcb0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A1205%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A0%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50 As for the whip, you could easily make one out of a jump rope with wooden handles (cut off one of the handles and paint the whole thing black). As for the goggles, you'd probably need to make those yourself. Find a pair of the largest cheap sunglasses you can find (WalMart again) that have clear or light blue lenses and remove the earpieces (the parts on the sides that hook over your ears). Make sure the sunglasses have a thick plastic frame, not thin wire because you'll need to use modeling clay (such as Crayola Model Magic) to form the goggle shape over the existing lens frame. Paint the clay silver. Attach a piece of black elastic band to the frame at the points where the earpieces used to be. Here is the hood you'll need - http://cgi.ebay.com/Lycra-zentai-spandex-wrestling-hood-metallic-open-face_W0QQitemZ170344978762QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Womens_Clothing_2?hash=item27a95a194a&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A1205%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A0%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50 The last thing you'll need to do is create a couple of little black cat ears and attach them to the hood. There you go! The perfect Catwoman costume from the Batman Hush comic! Hope it all works out! Good luck!
Mandy asks…
Which would be the best picture for this?
A few days ago I said I would be making an article about proper gum disposment. But to make people realize the annoyiness I wanted to have a pic of a shoe stepping in gum. However what kind of shoe should I use for the picture? Like I could use womens boots, high heels. Where would be the ideal place to take this picture? Also how much gum should I use? Should it be a man or woman( I think woman might be better) what color should the gum be? And should there be people around in the photo?
Our pick of the answers:
I think since i saw your other question about stepping in the poop you should leave the stepping in idea for the poop because i love the Gucci shoes in poop idea. I think for the gum you should get like a pair of work shoes or whatever shoe actually, and put gum on the bottom, then you do a nice clear, maybe even b/w depending on how versatile your pictures can be, picture of the bottom of the shoe with the gum on it, but make sure even though its close you have the whole shoe in the frame(: experiment with the angles so that it's not "flat" and boring. Goodluck[:
