Technically, assuming you are male, there is no difference. Crossdressing is typically defined as wearing clothing of the opposite gender. That being said, I think the biggest difference you are trying to define is the perception or degree of crossdressing. I presume that by crossdressing you mean more along the lines of men in a dress, skirt & heels, or other obvious women's fashion as opposed to simply clothes designed and intended for women. If that's the case, then the difference is going to be how the clothing fits and is perceived by the public at large. For most things, like pants or shorts and even in some cases shirts (blouses for women), most men won't notice the difference unless the clothing has lots of decorative features (embroidery, rhinestones, etc.).
