Laura asks…
Why the women in US are wearing shoes 2 sizes bigger than their feet???
I don't get it.....where is the elegance in wearing boats instead of shoes? Ok...I apologize...I did not express myself correctly. Forget about the "boats". That I meant was that I see a lot of women on the streets of NY with nice shoes, but you can always see the space in the back of their feet. It looks like the are too big. With one word : the shoes are loose on their feet. I am trying to understand why they wear them like that. I know that if you are not wearing your size, it could lead to an injury because you are loosing your balance if you have high feels. That's all.....please,,,explain ! And YES ,,,I agree about buying bigger boots. It's understandable when you have to wear socks.
Our pick of the answers:
It's not about elegance but about comfort. After a whole day, your feet have a tendency to get a little bigger (like when you go on an airplane) so you need to have shoes that are too big in the morning so they'll fit in the afternoon. That is why you should buy shoes at the end of the day, when your feet are bigger and not at the beginning of the day when your feet are smaller. So women, in the morning, seem to wear shoes that are too big. Another reason is that women try on shoes while sitting and after they wear those shoes standing up for a while, especially high heels, they will slide down into them and then you will notice that gap in the back. Or the leather on those shoes will loosen up over time and stretch, so the foot will slide down. Maybe people should wear different shoes for different times of the day because the perfect sized shoe in the morning will be too tight and give you blister in the afternoon! Also you see a lot of pictures of models (advertising, runway...) with shoes that are obviously too big but then it is because it is not their personal shoes, just the one they were given for the picture (along with the clothes), and they could not find their size so they had to get the bigger size.
Ruth asks…
if you wear a size 10 in women shoes are your feet considered big?
Our pick of the answers:
No, no one should consider their feet big. I'm 5"9 and I wear a size 10 1/2 or 11. When I look at the shoe by itself yea it looks big, but when I put it on my foot looks like a normal size because I'm so tall and they match up with my body. So technically no ones feet look big, unless you wear clown shoes or something.
