Your Questions About Shoes For Women With Flat Feet

Maria asks…

Flat footed woman?

I have no arches in my feet at all. Some days my legs and back hurt due to it. I can not aford the expensive shoes. Does anyone know of a company that makes a dress shoe that does not have an arch? Balet slippers don't work. My feet are to short from the floor to the top of my feet since I have no arch. in other words, they fall off.

Our pick of the answers:

Have you considered trying to correct the flat-footedness? I had the same problem and I spent many a year working with a specialist to combat the problem. It turns out that you need a shoe with a enforced arch in it already. Have you seen the kind where the insole has a mini-fake arch? They're usually found on high heels. Try a pair of those- it hurts a little for a couple of weeks (because obviously there's no arch there) but after that you may feel the aches and pains go away and the flat footedness somewhat corrected. Worked for me. Good luck!!

Sandra asks…

Cute Shoes for Flat Feet?

I just found out my arch has collapsed on one foot and is collapsing on the other. I got orthoticss made and I am just waiting to get them back. I work in a profession that is a lot about how you are presenting yourself and I need suggestions from professionals and fashionistas alike as to what types to wear with flat feet. My Doc. said lace or velcro! That doesn't sound very attractive. I had been wearing cute heals and flats but the pain it too bad now, and parties... oh tis the season for those, I wont wear tennis shoes and I don't want to make things worse.

You can find them at Payless, Wal-Mart, and Target even at local malls. Since flats usually aren't as dynamic as heels, look for flats in fashionable colors, materials and textures to help jazz up your look without having to resort to higher heels.I had a simular problem before and I went to a feet store and got arches to put in my shoes I would reccament doing that beacause I have a horrible shoe fettish and i just slip my arches in that way its helping my feet and my style at the same time. The site below will help with the arches .. Hope it helps http://www.footsmart.com/ProductList.aspx?productCategoryId=16&AID=7375449&PID=1652625&SID=Smart111
