Poll: is your height/shoe size proportionate?
There is a VERY reliable ratio of height / shoe size. Since this question is asked a lot, I wanted to share this with everyone. For guys it is around 15.5% of their height. For girls it's 14.5%. So you multiply your height in inches by 15.5 or 14.5 depending on your gender, and divide that result by 100, to get what your feet should AVERAGE in inches. Here are examples: - A guy that's 5'9 (69 inches tall): 15.5 x 69 = 1069.5 / 100 = 10.69 His feet should average 10.69 inches, which is a size 10 to 10.5 mens A girl that's 5'9? 14.5 x 69 = 1000.5 / 100 = 10.00 That's size 10 ladies ( 8 mens) - A guy that is 6 feet (72 inches tall) 15.5 x 72 = 1116 / 100 = 11.16 11.16 inches which is a size 11 to 11.5 men Guy 6 foot 5 = 15.5 x 77 = 1193.5 / 100 = 11.93 inches 11.93 inches is a size 14 mens Girl 5 foot 4 = 14.5 x 64 = 928 / 100 = 9.28 inches 9.28 inches is a 7 1/2 size 8 womens Girl 5'0 = 14.5 x 60 = 870 / 100 = 8.70 inches size 6 womens This formula is remarkably accurate, as a lot of people find that by doing this formula they get their shoe size almost exactly, but begins to breakdown with people that are unusually short and tall. So it works better with the 95% of the population that is between 5'2 and 6'5. But of course there are people above of under this body ratio rule. I myself fits as an extreme example: I'm 6 feet tall, but my feet are size 16 or 16 and a HALF. Quite enormous for my height: 13 inch feet = 13 x 100 = 1300 / 72 (my height) = 18% My feet are 18% of my height, unbelievably far higher than the 15.5%. So you multiply the inches of your feet by 100, then divide the result by your height in inches, and you get the proportion of your feet to your height. Mine is my feet are 18% of my height (should be 15.5%)... yikes.

Well im 14 yrs old so ive got HEAPS of growing to do so im not in proportion yet. Im 71.5 inches tall and according to the formula my feet should be exactly 11 inches long, my feet are 10.75 inches long and i wear a size 11us. Considering that im still growing and im a typical disproportionate teen, that is a very accurate formula.
