Agustin Jaime Vera Engl0373Moi 6/9/2011 Descriptive Essay #2 Ms. Carmona My Family Portrait I was in my room searching for something to describe for my descriptive essay. When I had noticed on my desk, was a family picture. That was the only family photo we had of all of us together. My father, my mother, my brother, and me. I had finally found what I wanted to write about and it was to describe a family portrait. I wanted to let people know about my family's photo and what it entailed. This family portrait was taken during Christmas it was taken a couple of years ago. It was the best Christmas' that I had spent in my whole life. It was the only Christmas that I and my family spend together. We all looked joyful and excited; we all had this big special smile. There was Christmas presents wrapped in green, red, white paper with white and yellow bows. Also gift bags surrounding the tree in our living room. The background was adorned with a green Christmas tree with red, green, yellow, white, blue, and orange spheres hanging all around the tree. Color Christmas lights over the tree, it was so colorful it looked like a bright rainbow. The center of attention was the big golden star on top. Now this golden star is very special to me. I remember in my childhood we would always decorate our house and the Christmas tree together. But the star my father use to carry me up to the top if the tree so I can placed on the tree. This was a tradition we would always do, this meant that Christmas was here and we were ready to receive it with joy. Now my mother is in the middle of everybody the family picture, this picture definitely has captured my mother's beauty. With that mysterious yet deep look she has, she transmits love, confidence, and hope. With those chocolate brown eyes, and her perfect eyebrows. That oval shaped face she got from my grandma and her curly blonde hair like Goldilocks. She has always been the center of attention with her stunning high cheekbones, and a small but pointy nose. Her soft white hands, I remember when I was little when she would hold my hand look at me and tell me how much she loved me. Her think red lips. Her beauty reminds me of a Greek goddess, Aphrodite. My mother is wearing this light blue like the sky dress; this dress is the one she only uses on special occasions. My mother loved that dress. It was a present I had given her on mother's day. As well this brown belt over the dress, her curly hair loose and some brown high heels shoes. Now my father is on the right side of my mom hugging her with one arm and the other hand in his pocket. My dad is very tall; he's a lot taller than me. My dad and I are the only ones who have short straight brown hair in the family, and his eyes are green like a lemon. Everybody on my dad's side has green or blue eyes it's a family trait. He has bushy eyebrows, he has big ears, and he has a circle shaped face just like grandpa Agustin. Ever since I could remember, my father has always had a mustache, it's unforgettable. My father has a western look he looks like a cowboy. My dad is has on this red and white striped shirt tucked in. Cowboy blue jeans, belt, and a cowboy hat and boots. I Remember when I was about five years old would look up to my father I wanted to be like him, so I use to dress like a cowboy. I can remember it very vividly like it just happened yesterday. My little brother was right in front of my father. My brother is the one that that is smiling the most, he is even showing his teeth. He is short and he only reaches up to my chest. He has cool green eyes; he has bushy eyebrows like my dad's. He has light brown short wavy hair. My little brother has this birthmark on the right side of his cheek, and he has big ears that are sticking out. He has small pink lips and a thin nose. My little brother is wearing a white t-shirt a black jacket over it, blue jeans, and his black converse shoes. Now I'm on the other side next to my mom. I'm hugging my mom you could see happiness all over my face. In that moment I was thinking about how much I love my mom, my family, how close we are, and what they had done from me. These memories were going to last for ever. I had a big smile showing my teeth like my little brother. I am taller than my mom, but not taller than my dad who is 6"4. I resemble both my father and my mother. I kind of have my mom's cheekbones and I have her oval shaped face. My dark green eyes and thick eyebrows are reminiscent of the Vera men. As well as my dad have brown straight hair and for some reason I am the only one in my family that has beauty marks all over my face.
