Your Questions About Ladies Shoes

Nancy asks…

standard or common retail markup on ladies shoes?

Hello, I've searched on the net, but get varying answers. Can anyone tell me what is the standard or most common markup for retailers on women's shoes and boots in the UK? Is it 2 times or 3 times the wholesale price? Thanks in advance.

Our pick of the answers:

ALL 'fashion' items (essentially, anything worn by women) is NOT subject to 'normal' marks ups .. It's WHATEVER THE MARKET ('fashion conscious' females with more money than sense) are willing to pay .. To check this, I suggest you go visit a local shopping center / outlet center that has a range of shops. You will find ladies shoes on sale from anywhere above £200 down to about £5 ... The general rule of retail, is that to make a profit you have to sell at x2 mark-up or better ... But plainly it does not cost £100 to make a pair of shoes when they can be sold at £5 .. But just as obvious (I hope) the £200 shoes will have cost a little more than £2.50 to make ...

Linda asks…

Would anyone buy size 5 ladies shoes that are new and worn only once?

I was wondering because a friend of mine is moving and wants me try and sell them. She says you can never find this size in stores and maybe somebody would buy them online. If I would get luck selling them where could I sell them.Help as much as you can if your interested in shoes to leave contact information and i can try and see what you are looking for.Unfourtunatley you might have to wait for the begining of september for my friens to come into town.

Our pick of the answers:

Darlin, don't advertise here, go to cregslist, or ebay and post them. Preferably as a package with a lot of other things... Just a suggestion. Good Luck Kate
