Your Questions About Guess Shoes Macy's

Lizzie asks…

How should I dress for a Macy's job interview?

I have an interview tomorrow I shop at Macy's but honestly I never really noticed how the employees dressed, and I really don't want to go to the store right now because I don't know it will feel weird I'm a guy 22 years old I was thinking dress shoes, black or baby blue button up shirt with a tie but I don't know. Or should I just go in a suit? Thanks again oh the job interview is tomorrow so any fast answers are greatly appreciated and if you work at Macy's that's a plus!!!!!

Our pick of the answers:

My sister is a department supervisor for Macy's and I remember when she was going for her first interview as a simple furniture retail person a few years back. Most people don't notice, but the employees there always have to be in all black. It's required. They can wear a colored shirt but they always have to have some kind of black cardigan over it. They just want to look professional, they make it easy to spot an associate. Well my sister usually wear tons of color but, for some reason. She coincidentally went in an all black get-up for her interview. Anyways, i heard that they loved it in the end (i guess they thought she did her research/noticed dress codes, etc.). Obviously she got the job (on the spot)... So just wear all black somehow, maybe a suit or just a black dress shirt (a lot of the managers i see walking around wear suits though). Just make sure you look professional, like you care about your appearance, and I'm sure you'll be awesome!!! Good Luck :)

Jenny asks…

How to dress maturely for a 29yr old man?

I need advice. My gf wars for me to stop wearing clothes that look like I'm still in college like sneakers basketball shoes Hurley/zoo York/etc. I need a total makeover. Suggestions-stores, brands, styles? I am not a hipster guy not do I like stuff from the Express in the mall. I am 29 and almost have my PHD so she is basically in a change and look your age or we are done deal as she normally dresses kinda like Pam from the office

Our pick of the answers:

Go hit an Armani exchange, a department store like Macy's or Bloomingdales. Get clothing from the young men's section, stick to DKNY, Lacoste, Guess, Buffalo, Inc. Watch what other men are wearing, skip the sports stuff unless you're going to a game or the gym. Buy shoes instead of sneakers, several shoes for different situations. Bring your girl with you, take your time. Don't buy anything that you can't stomach. Oh, remind the gf that you're 29, not 59. Sometimes it's O.K. To wear skate clothes and Jordans, just not out to dinner and drinks with other couples.
