Shoes with a pattern, what kind of outfit?

I have a pair of Steve Madden shoes that have a houndstooth design on them, is it ok to wear an outfit that also has a pattern (like stripes)? Or should I stick with only only one or the other?

Can I get sick from one mouse dropping in a new pair of shoes I got?

I ordered Steve Madden boots and they just came in the mail. As a girl of course I pranced around in them in my room with the box there too. The next morning I stuck my barefoot in the shoe and there was a lump and I found only 1 mouse dropping. My house doesn't have mice so I know it definitely came from the shoe. Am I going to get sick? Especially since it was in my room?
