Congrats!!! I recommend any men's basketball shoe by NIke. They last longer than any of the women's versions i have tried. They are also wider and have a little more arch support than adidas which makes then more comfortable to play in. Make sure you jump around in them when you try them on.

Is there any way to make high heel shoes less noisy?

Well, the only thing I can think of is if you're talking about the heel itself making to much noise when it hits the ground, try setting your toe area down first. Depending on the height of the heel that may or may not work. Or, try setting you're whole foot down evenly. I bet you could find gel or some type of cover for the tip of the heel if it was like a stiletto or skinny heel, and a type of pad for the toe area that touched the ground. Just some ideas. If you're referring to the flip-flop noise some heels with less strap produce, try curling your toes a little while you walk; it seems to help me some. Just some ideas, like I said :)

Capezio are actually very good tap shoes, i did tap for 10 years and my shoes were always capezio, i loved them. I dont know if this matters much to you but if you are taking a class the other people might have the leather shoes that arent shiny..those are more of a little kid thing, but thats not a big deal. But i would get them at your local dance store. They might be cheaper than online and they might have more of a selection. But if you wanted to order them online all about dance is a very good website, i order all my dance clothes from there, and im pretty sure that you can return them, and they do say what the reccomended fitting is so thats helpful. Do men think that women in really high heels are trashy?

I wear really high heels because I'm really short, and I like the way I feel in them. I don't feel like I get any attention at all when I'm not, actually, but to be fair, I don't really go out that much due to a chronic illness. But I wonder if the only reason I get more attention is men equate my really high heels with easiness.

As a straight guy, let me try to bring a bit of logic and reason to this question, based upon what I've noticed over the years. I think it's more about how you walk in heels. If you are wearing really high heels, you stand a chance of falling into one of two looks - the "tranny" look, or the "I've just sh!t myself" look. If your heels are so high that you're 'clumping' along so that the ball of your foot is touching the ground at the same time as your heel, you have successully achieved the "tranny" look!! Congratulations. However, if your heels are so high that it's making you bend both knees whilst walking (your body is trying to straighten up the angle of your pointed foot) you have perfected the "I've just sh!t myself" look. Again - well done. To me, either of these look trashy. They are certainly not good looks on a woman (or even a man for that matter). However, if you can walk elegently in your heels with your head up and your legs pretty much "kicking" straight on each step, with a little bit of a wiggle in your hips, then it's far, far less likely to look trashy. I think part of the point in wearing heels is more about how they make you feel, rather than how they make you look. Personally, I really don't like the huge platform shoes which are out there. However, those have a small platform which fits well with the rest of the boot. Go for it, babe!! Enjoy being tall.

But off the top of my head, I would choose a dress - something long - maybe not floor length, but at least below the knee. Heels, of course. Open-toed or close-toed would depend on the dress. Accessories......a simple diamond bracelet is always nice. Again, depends on what the dress is like. And probably dangley earrings. Just bought new house today (closed). I have tile in some floors, need ideas on adding hardwoods(integrate)?

In the front entry all the way through the kitchen and dining room is very nice large neutral 18' tiles. Rest of house (except bathrooms) have carpet. I really, really want to put down hardwoods, but not sure how to integrate with the current tile. Its too New and expensive to trash it, does anyone have any great ideas on how to incorporate both?? I am looking for ideas on how mix the hardwoods I want with the tile that is already existing.

You will need to ensure your wood floor is level with the tiles. Hardwood floor ? 3/4" Solid boards, laminate veneered boards. Real boards can be power sanded after your stilettos and heavy dogs or cats have marked them whereas laminates will need replacing. This is a big decision, have a word with flooring shops as I believe a number of them who fitted laminate floors for customers in the last 5/6 years are now going back to replace them with carpet. Oak is the traditional material of choice for floors, maple is also used for its light colour.
